Can't do the Twitter link thing but has just put a smiley/wink emoji to the question of being back next year...

Excellent news if true.

Doubt he even knows yet. Lampard wouldnt have made a decision based on not knowing what division they are in

Great news if he is! No matter what people might think of his finishing, he’s been great this season, an exciting young player who still has a a lot to learn. His finishing and ability of the weaker right foot are both things that can easily be improved with work put in. He must be one of the first names on the team sheet and I think he’d get into every team in this league bar maybe a few at the top end.

People will want big money spent and quality added all over the pitch, but we’ll equally reap the rewards of keeping the most we can of the current squad together, where we already have quality of course. This will really give us the edge over teams at the start of season, instead of not having the chemistry at that point, or simply not knowing our best team.

I like him, but i think there might be a better alternative out there. The Derby owner is starting to focus on youth, so i guess he'll be retained anyway!

Would be good news having him another year, he fits in to our way of playing no guarantee someone else will, I’d buy him if possible, perhaps we can nick a bit of any Wilson windfall

Yeah, the ones that posted “f*ck off Thomas” after he missed at Portsmouth... good lord

Re: a better alternative. There probably is, and it’s more than likely they’re playing high end champ or prem! What’s great about Thomas’s game is how he’s not scared to put a foot in and defend. His work rate is phenomenal.

Bright and Thomas back would be great. Thomas will have learnt a huge amount this season.
Kent was very similar, look at the change in him now.
Feeling very optimistic for next season. Get Willis resigned or use option on Davis.

If both stay, given how well they work with Hiwula and Baka, we could be devastating next season. 5-0 wins all over the gaff.

A proper striker with Thomas bright & Hiwula would be I can’t see Baka being here next season

I get that viewpoint, but I reckon he's got a lot in his locker still to give. This has been his best goalscoring season to date, and you'd like to think he can only get better. It's a question of whether he's doing what Robins wants, I guess. I'd give him another season. I think he can do well if he applies himself.

I think we need to calm down. What happens if bright and Thomas sign elsewhere? People are talking on here as if bright is signed and sealed, the season isn't even over yet!

They can't can they. If Willis is refusing to sign, why would these 2 who are younger and better?

If our strikers could actually finish, Thomas would have 10-15 assists this season. People are quick to forget the first few months of the season where he was our only attacking option, dragging the team forward by himself.

he got MoM about 6 games in a row earlier in the season.
Don't know why people fail to understand that if these youngsters didn't have aspects of their game that needed working on they wouldn't be getting loaned out to us.

He so much work off the ball. For an attacking player his defensive qualities are top notch! So many midfielders would change back and just take the man and concede a foul in some of the positions he’s found himself this season, but he’s kept his cool, stayed on his feet and a lot of the time won back possession

So much to his game already but also so much more to improve on

Keeping most of the attacking line together for another season would be brilliant. They’ve started to gel nicely towards the back end of this season, just need to find a striker that can stick more of our chances away.

Thomas staying would be a massive boost.

His overall play and speed is brilliant so just needs to work on decision making. what will come with time.

We can all chip in on a pair of boots for him so he can have SBT shooting boots.

Considering that we should, in theory, be pushing for the top end of the table next season, you'd like to think we have a chance of resigning Thomas...I don't think he is quite good enough for the Championship, yet...so you never know.

If he could work on his finishing he would be one hell of a player at Championship level, at this level his pace alone is a real asset as it pulls others out of position/takes the focus off others.

Just to play Angels Advocate (if that’s a thing), if the choice is lower Championship vs a promotion chasing team with virtually guaranteed first team football and a known element in terms of playing style and coaching. I could see them thinking another year loan here wouldn’t be so bad. Not like Willis who will want to try his hand further up on a permanent contract

Play him on the left side so he can whip crosses in and shoot across the keeper I’m positive we would see a dramatically improved goal return
