Eh? what fighting in that, the bloke claims not to go to games home or away, supports Sisu to the hilt who are ripping the club to bits, all the guy does is hurl personal abuse at people 90% of the time on pretty much any thread.
Very strange to hitch your wagon to the most disruptive, aggressive, divisive person on this board- whilst claiming to oppose people 'splitting the fans'
Bizarre.

You just don't mention them?
have they sent you a court summons?
Maybe because they don't work for your beloved CCC

So by not mentioning them does that make a supporter? Another case of people reading things that aren't there?

Good one. I don't know why you hate the bloke so much. I think that we should create a new team because there's no future under SISU - and there's a few like minded people who I'm talking to on it.

Just trying to find a way out of this terrible situation with SISU. Honest question - what do you think our best way out is? I don't think we can just sit and watch them keep the club in Northampton for years followed by a shocking stadium outside the city the club is supposed to represent.

I won't support a new team - watching park football is not for me. We have been outside the City for only a few months. This will go one of two ways. Either the club will return to the existing Stadium as owners or we get liquidated before the start of next season.

Its a waiting game and nothing anyone does will make any difference.

So if we do get liquidated before the start of next season, what will you do then ? if a new club rose from the ashes and became what was Coventry City, would you support that if there was no other alternative ?

No - the standard of football for the last decade has been AFC Coventry compared to what I am used to -- I will just give up on football altogether.

If a new club was allowed to start at Conference Level then I may reconsider but I just cannot see how that is possible.

You also said..........

"So the quality if the ground is more important than the football club?

Bizarre. If in Coventry I would watch the club in the memorial park with temporary facilities. If you support the club why wouldn't you?"

Yeah, I don't think that'd be allowed. Looking at AFC Wimbledon and FC United of Manchester, they started around the 10th tier if football.

If we do ultimately get liquidated then at least we'd have a head start, with out own fan-owned club; and could set it up properly so that the likes of SISU can't ever do this again.

If they gained control of the Ricoh I'd be too appalled be their actions to continue supporting them anyway.

What right do they have to sue over a loan which in effect have ACL the leeway to offer them a better deal! There's no morally acceptable reason for why they are suing. They disgust me.

How could that not be possible, I bet there wasn't many people who thought the predicament we now find ourselves in wasn't possible when we were doing things like winning the FA cup, but here we are. You spend a lot of time on here questioning fellow CCFC fans of their Loyalty in the club, but now you are saying that you wouldn't watch a football club that was the only option from your home city, surely not Grendel. I hope we come home, I really do but if the worst did come to the worst and from that rose another Coventry 1883 or whatever it would be called, I would watch it like a shot because what other option would we have. I have invested to much time, money and love to watch a team from my home City and I would love that chance again. If it is CCFC then I would be over the moon, but if it wasn't I wouldn't turn my back on the next best thing, a team playing in Coventry with the name of Coventry in it.

They aren't suing, they are asking for a Judicial Review over whether the loan was legal use of state aid.

I said 'became what was Coventry City', in an earlier post I said Coventry 1883. Could you just give up on a football team representing the City of Coventry. What happened when we were first formed, people had to start supporting something they hadn't previously.

The original CCFC was formed by a workers team in Coventry, it took the name Coventry as it saw itself as a representation of the city. CCFC is being held hostage in northampton and in my opinion isn't coming back in the near future. I want to see professional football in Coventry, not part-time semi pro football a proper club established in the city whose results will make national headlines. Sphinx are already established and higher up the league than coventry united. They can form another team in the lower leagues . Sphinx can easily reform in the lower leagues.

I'm not turning my back on CCFC, SISU have turned their back on Coventry, nothing I can do can affect the situation, ask AFC Wimbledon fans would they rather have their own club (not in Wimbledon but close to it) or still be in litigation arguing about the club returning from MK. Away games for the next 5 years will soon see our support fall even further

One question.

There is discussion at the moment about "rebranding" - e.g. MK Dons as opposed to Wimbledon, Hull Tigers as opposed to Hull City. The fans don't want Hull Tigers.

Looking from the other direction. Can the City of Coventry ask the League or FA to force a change of name from Coventry City to a name without the word "Coventry" in it, should the team not be playing in the City of Coventry in the future? Should that happen, then SISU would have the Golden Share in the name of - e.g. "Brandon Rovers" or whatever. There would be no more direct association with the founders of our team and SISU would have therefore very little to play with.

The way would be open for a "real" Coventry team - named as such and playing in the City. The City could offer the Ricoh and naming rights to the highest bidder.

Admittedly a long term project with little income at the beginning, but better than having the name "Coventry" usurped and misused by total strangers.

What about EU trading law? You cannot advertise as a Cornish Pasty if it's made anywhere other than Cornwall...maybe a name change to "Northampton No-fans FC", or "Nomads FC" or even "Homeless FC"

The club is in a total shambles under Sisu's management and stewardship, your response 'CCC are 100% to blame for the mess' that is backing Sisu beyond any reason...That and 1000's of posts attacking anyone criticising Sisu in any way whatsoever.
You really need to understand the buck stops with the owner of any business, their role is to be responsible for its well being. They should be held responsible for the shambles we are in.

Sepalla knows nothing about football
She does not care about coventry city fc
She cares only about underhand business practices in acquiring the Ricoh arena under value, so that it can be merged with the football club to make value
She does not care what damage is inflicted in the process

how the FL passed Otium in their owners test, shows how corrupt that is also

or if it was infact state aid.

is someone keeping a tab on all the aid we send to Africa? as ACL are paying back the "state aid" with interest surely this means african nations or any other nation that tax payers money is being used to send aid to are also going to pay it back with interest.

That isn't true is it?

I don't think Cornish pasties have the 'protected designation of origin' but Melton Mowbray pork pies do.

Edit - it appears that they do

The product is football, so I think origin doesn't count. My argument would be that SISU are publicly discrediting the city council e.g. JS says you cannot work with them (CCC), ML that ACL is "rapacious" although they have tried to offer lower rents, TF that too much has gone on and SISU ( Otium ) must move on plus the ongoing saga of the JR.

Why should Coventry wish to be associated with such people? Why not take up SISU's idea ( a good one ) to work with AEG in Coventry? Cut out the middle man ( SISU ) as standard business practice. Or why not, instead of getting on a train to London, fly to Salzburg and meet Red Bull? Red Bull has a great record in sponsoring successful sporting teams and events. In Germany they Sponsor RB Leipzig in the third division. Leipzig has about 500000 population, a world cup stadium and no Bundesliga team. A few years ago they were non-league, but now they are on the way up.

They got around the "naming problem" by calling the team "Rasen Ball" Leipzig - reduced to RB Leipzig. They don't need to spell out Red Bull, everyone knows what they mean.

I could wear RB Coventry City playing in Coventry at the Ricoh under serious management trying to acheive sporting success as a way of boosting their product image.

They could also offer Ricoh a deal to buy back the stadium name.

We have to accept the fact that we have no say in what is going on - apart from not consuming the product - and our only hope lies with the City Council finding someone to put the Ricoh to use. Hopefully SISU will collapse in the medium term and the council should push them on their way by being proactive in finding alternatives for the Ricoh and look for ways of tieing SISU up in bad Publicity and, if possible, legal actions.

I say SISU will collapse, only my opinion, based on their reaction to the Trust. They were "cock a hoop" after winning the chance for a JR, but the Guardian article seemed to have caused them enough harm to provoke a knee jerk reaction resulting in everyone reading the article and now a follow up critiscm in the Times.

The crowds are dropping like a stone to add to the bad publicity. The stadium plans will be announced in several months….which was always weeks in the past.

It does not look good for SISU imho. That also means that our club, CCFC, is in a perilous position.

Merry Christmas…..

i know what my point is, whats yours?

mine is, it cant be aid if its getting paid back in form of a loan.

will sisu take Northampton Council to court for illegal use of state aid in form of the loan they have arranged for NTFC to build the extension at sixfields?
