I'm surrounded by beaches, but today, I think I'll take my missus and the dog for an Isle of Wight countryside walk.

Changed our minds and spent the day on the beach. (Couple of pics....)
1. Hurst Point Prison from Fort Victoria.
2. Hurst Lighthouse from Fort Vic.
3. A floaty thing.
4. My favourite place - Yarmouth pier (usually great fishing spot!)

We started off living in Totland in 2010, just off the Broadway. There for 2 years then moved to Newport.

I lived about 50 metres from colwell bay beach for around 7 years before moving to Yarmouth. It's nice when the weather is like today.

I'm guessing Colwell Chine Road? We lived in Ward Road. Short walk down to Totland Bay itself. Did you hear about the real bad landslip a couple of years ago? The coastal walkway from Totland to Colwell was taken out and it was closed for about 18 months. I have pictures.

Yeah. I saw that mate. It's a route I used to take every day as I used to work at the Waterfront restaurant in my youth.

Had many a pint at the Waterfront! I was there a few days ago. (By the way, the council have placed parking ticket machines all along there now! Even if you just want a pint, you have to pay for parking!)

Love to Houch. Fed up being skint as I'd come down. My son says the both of us could do with a break. I make do with sunny Bell Green and a walk through Wood End !

we were coming back from the IoW on the ferry and we passed quite close to one of those big cruise liners coming out of Southampton, it made the ferry look like a 2 man dinghy - fuckin' huge!! How do they float?!

I used to work at Southampton docks filling the freight liners with brand new motors. You should see the size of some of those. They make them cruise liners look like 2 man dinghys. Unbelievable really.

Yeah, they're pretty big. Couple of pics of the "Oasis of the Seas". 1st one is alongside another liner and the 2nd is passing by a Wightlink ferry (which feels big enough when you're on it!
