Most of us pay into one at work, even with our family members. Why don't us fans do it? Surely we can make a thread with people who would be willing to contribute to one just for CCFC fans, any winnings will be put into "our" CCFC account which can be created by some-one we trust... i.e NICK e.t.c......... Just a thought, in it to win it and all that....:thinking about:

Sounds ok in principal but I can't see it working on a forum site. Problems I can forsee are..........

1. How would money be collected?
2. Who would select numbers?
3. If there were any winnings, who would hold on to them and how long for?
4. If someone wants to join syndicate at a later date, how is any money won divided up?
5. What if someone drops out. How do they get their up-to-date share of any winnings?
6. There are quite a few posters who live away, not just from Cov, but from the UK. How do they go about things?

Those are just for starters. I'm sure there are many flaws that others will come up with. As I said, good idea in principal, but I feel totally unworkable. Sorry. As the Dragons say, "I won't be investing."

H ow about a betting syndicate ,you know say you had inside information, well in advance of the bookies ,you get all you're bets on ,and hey all that remains to be done is withdraw any tangible obstacle to failure, wonder if anyones ever tried that. :thinking about:If as a group of fans say through a trust could get together on lottery/betting syndicate ,for a common aim of benefit to the club ,ringfenced, not out of personal interest ,say with an aim of a stadium fund ,who knows ,think apathy would stall it,do we have any top tipsters among us ,who's top of the prediction league

Won't touch it I'm afraid.

My wife paid into a syndicate and the person running it stole all the money. Sort of put me off.

Not saying you aren't all good, true honest gents, mind.

It is a good idea but not a simple thing to run

Ran a club syndicate years ago based on the lottery bonus ball - punters supposed to pay a pound every week and back a number(s) from 1 to 49 with the winner taking £40 and £9 for the club after each Saturday lottery draw

Simples innit - N effing O

Don't forget all the participants lived locally and used the club regularly

But would they pay on time - NO, would they not incur arrears of none/late payments - NO

I had to disband it after 12 months with some of them owing up to £30 in arrears (and still do)

So SBB I would think it 100% practically impossible to run your proposal in the cyberspace that is SBT when I failed miserably on terrestial ground

Reminds me of the clientle 'The Cheylesmore' Pub whose cunning plan was to buy lottery tickets & invest any winnings on buying back the pub for the locals.
Needless to say the scheme was a total flop winning only £10 & the site has been waste ground since the pub 'unfortunately' burned down within a few months of closing.

Showing picture of site substantially as it is today.

Anyway, back to the point the lottery is a stealth tax, not to be taken seriously as a means to save CCFC.

I'd like to be in. Betting Syndicate would be more appealing though. A few accumulators at £1 each with odds of 1000-1. That way a win nets everyone £100 or so. Can use PayPal as the merchant, if you don't pay then your accumulator doesn't go on, and you don't get a share.
Everyone picks their own accumulators of 6-8 games.

Also, to make sure there is no funny business, a scan of the slips, or screenshot of the transaction screen (if using online account). That way everyone on the forum can see the games we've picked and get envious when they watch the scores coming in on the vidiprinter

Don't need an accumulator. Just bet on City winning any match. That has to 1000/1.

1. you can use pay pal/ set up a standing order (which will mean setting up a bank account for the syndicate)
2. you can pick a set of numbers.
3. the winnings unless a big win can be accumulated sorted at a given one date of the year. if big win obviously can shared more quckley.
4. have a set number of places. you can only join if someone drops out.
5 if someone drops out someone else can join. you lose out if you drop out.
6 contracts can be faxed/ posed and returned and again with payments pay pal/ standing order.

i would say as this is online you would need every one to pay at least a month in advanced. if you fall behind on payments your out and place would be offered to someone else.
