I cannot help think that with the signing of all these players that our Club is losing its identity.I know this happened in JH's era but now to me it seems wrong.

I guess it will never happen. but I would like Clubs restricted to fielding players born within 20 miles of the Club & lads born further afield who have been at the Club at least Five years in their youth set up.

Regards.

You are an idiot! Reason why we're bringing in new players is because our current players arn't good enough and we have a small squad...

Also, we do have a lot of local lads (including brum): Thomas, Clarke (who I went to school with!), McSheff, Cameron, Jeffers plus more coming through!

A romantic idea.

However you could go and watch Sphinx if you want to see local players playing for a local side.

Our next league opponents are Yeovil. A small town surrounded by villages. At least it would keep their wage bill down as they are the only league team for miles. However good any player would be born around there would never win anything decent. If a player was born more than 20 miles from any club would he be able to play for anyone?

At least Sunderland would end up with players from their beloved Newcastle.

Transfer parts of your idea to the national teams. Limit Premier and all British team clubs to max 5 overseas players and within 3-4 years football in this country would thrive again with good British talent.

Teams from the big cities like Leyton Orient would be Prem Champs.

Premiership TV deal would dwindle in millions almost overnight, and for that reason, it will never happen.
