Must say lord I found you funnier on GMK. Whilst in the height of pontifying about how much more intelligent GMK members are in comparison to SBT members. A bloke called mole came up with quite an intelligent witty comment to support your opinion.

Unfortunately he was a little too sharp for you and you mistook his comment as him having a go at you.

You then had a pop at him. Which I must say was very ironic and amusing in the middle of a discussion about how intelligent GMK posters are.

I assume that most people understood your post to mean you have heard there will be a statement but you do not believe it will happen. As oppose to a pointless post like

SISU will spend a billion this summer

Yeah right.

I was using it literally as in "Wind Up Merchant". I find your posts amusing sometimes, but I'm a bit pissed off that I spent time looking through the paper for something that wasn't there...you wound me up, well done, but please at least be decent to admit you were on a "Wind Up", and therefore WUMMING!

As if Hoffman would be making any kind of statement!

Though to be fair often look through the CT for things that aren't there too, any semblance of news and journalism for a start.

Looking again-the "disclaimer" was right at the bottom, and at least 7 of the first 8 posters in the thread clearly did not take it as a "disclaimer". How it reads is "the rumour has been said to me as true, however my opinion is that it's a load of old crap, believe it when I see it.".

Rather than "Hoffman to make statement"......."not really! As if that would happen!"

I don't mind looking a bit stupid, but we all know that OSB isn't, and he was taken in by it!

I think we probably need to somewhat ironically put it all down to "miscommunication", something we are quite familiar with, after all.

Seriously if you lack reading comprehension and thought that post was genuinely saying Hoffman was making a statement. You deserve all the wasted time and disappointment coming your way.

I'm really sorry if that sounds harsh. But seriously, it says more about the tendency of this board to believe anything like that unquestionably than anything else.

yes i commented on the op ........ sat and thought not sure of this ...... but posted all the same.

wasnt amused by it as such but not bothered by it either ...... was just another throwaway thread to me ..... not sure who is really the one to look a little foolish ..... but if i am well, guess that means i can be sometimes .... situation normal then ..... i can live with that

will be good to get back talking about football
