For perspective, there have been nine games at Derby in that period and 6 were draws.

I remember us getting fucking spanked aided and abetted by an abject refereeing performance from David Ellery and a well k own Coventry landlord being restrained from tracking him down to throttle him afterwards!!

I saw at least one away game at the Baseball ground many moons ago. I’m sure we were winning 2-0 and managed to lose 3-2

Yes FA Cup 1997 Dean Sturridge last minute winner. About 7000 City and loads of dodgy tickets. Interesting walk back to the station after

I remember us scoring at the baseball ground and some fans stopped celebrating because it felt like the stand was about collapse.
Was a proper dilapidated sithole but I love them types of grounds.

Yeah, he managed to get a 17 year old Jordan Clarke sent off. Massive bell end.

I was at pride park where Jim Smith’s Derby schooled us. Stefano Eranio and Francesco Baiano put on a masterclass

All I remember was that there wasn't much room to walk on the terraces, my knees used to keep the bloke in fronts ears warm all game

I went to the baseball ground with the old man to watch Pompey. The view for away fans was really restricted for the one end; it had a really low ceiling!
Fortuantely all the goals were down our end. Saw the late great Alan McLoughlin scoring a header I seem to remember.

Not the worst ground I went to, to watch Pompey…step forward Walsall’s old ground, google tells me it was called Fellows Park.
Dilapidated terrace with an 8ft sheer drop at the back. The toilets were a portakabin, which had a river of piss coming out the side of it, making its way towards the pitch.
David Kelly playing for Walsall, a very knackered looking Micky Quinn playing for Pompey. 1-1 I believe.

Did you manage to sample the delight that was Plough Lane? At the top of the terrace was a portacabin toilet next to a shed that sold food with fans queuing to buy food in streams of piss heading towards the pitch.

Alas I didn’t but that sounds delightful!
I did go to watch Leyton Orient one year…and thought it was actually quite nice…excellent pies (minus the piss streams).

Mine were purely midlands based Pompey games that coincided with Cov playing away.

I remember Wolves being particularly odd, with the one massive modern stand that was miles away from the pitch, and 2 stands that were completely out of commission. I’ve watched its renovation with a little curiosity.
I saw Pompey lose 5-0 vs them, a second half Steve Bull hattrick. 0-0 at halftime.

I used to go and watch Newcastle away with my mate if we were away although the Wimbledon game was a midweek league cup game.
Almost on topic I saw them lose at the Baseball Ground and Gascoigne was sent off for a foul and dissent within a minute of each other. As he was walking off Derby manager Arthur Cox who knew Gascoigne from when he was manager or assistant at Newcastle went to speak to him and Gascoigne kicked the physios bucket of water over him The real highlight was when we were leaving Derby and were in a queue of cars heading back to the motorway, a young policeman was overtaking all the cars and clipped a car just in front of us, his car spun hit another couple of cars in the queue and came to rest hitting a parked car on the other side of the road, it is fair to say the Geordies gave him plenty of abuse/piss taking

Last time I went to Derby, Baseball Ground, god what a dump, Sky Blues won 1.0 Willy Carr with the winning goal on a plowed field.

Looking at the highlights last night of the Derby game against Blackburn that pitch doesn't look much better.

Tbf I don't think I've seen us win there. I've seen us win at Derby in the Baseball Ground so I'm not a complete jinx, hopefully I can end my run there too.

I couldn’t get a ticket at the baseball ground for love or money. My brother phoned me up and asked if I was going. I told him we had sold out . 2 hours later he calls again to tell me he’d got 2 tickets, but never said they were in the home end well we scored and all hell broke loose. We got escorted out the ground half way through the second half. Bust lip and black eye . Hahaha great days back then

West Brom seem to be a bit of a bogey team if memory serves me right? Genuinely can't remember last time we beat them? Going back to Mifsud season i think. And even then, they beat us twice (league and FA cup) that same season. I don't really have many memories of beating them. Somebody can surely find stats?

We beat them at home 2 seasons ago.
The record isn't great though, you're right on that.

I think the good thing aswell with our run in, of all the tricky games (Sunderland, Blades, Burnley, WBA and Boro) only Blades is away. All the others are at home. The away games at Hull, Plymouth, Luton and Derby you'd like to think a team pushing for play offs "should" be picking g up at very least a point from. If not all 3.
