As most of us i am sure, have been pretty low since Saturday (well, since last Tuesday to be honest!) But sunday after looking at the paper and especially the League 1 Table, i am getting a bit more excited about the coming season. Yes, i am sure the SISU thing will rage on, and throw a few more twists in but, i can not affect that. I reckon they will sell/release but will allow us to buy for a change. (cant be that stupid too not!!) So based on the lads we have, and most likely will be keeping, ROD, Cody, Baker, Deegan be great at this level, throwing 2/3 new faces in after selling some. I am looking forward to us having a real go, I mean there are some shit in that league and i refused to put us amongst the strugglers, we are better than that. Title contenders maybe, but most defo Promotion hopefulls. Just want the season over and done then plan fantastic away days to Notts County, Preston and the like. Upwards and onwards.

Well there's a big cloud of uncertainty surrounding us at the moment but, if we get through that, I am looking forward to at least having a good season. Here's hoping!

I've never been but is Preston really a fantastic away day?

A couple of my mates went years ago and got chased for ages before narrowly escaping a proper kicking. Surprising how quick a fat kid can run when the threat of a beating is there.

Sell a few players and bring a few in? We need to bring in more than we let go otherwise we will not have enough players again. We also have more league games, an extra cup and join the other cups in RD 1

Same amount of league games to be fair, unless we make the playoffs

I'd be happy for a cup final appearance in the Johnstons Paint Trophy, any trip to Wembley would probably make my since birth wait for any glory worth it

Someones had there dose upped by their shrink!

Are you joking.

There is some shit in that league ... your correct their chap. And most of that shit will roll is over quite easilly. It is a goal scorers league. .. we don'have goal scorers ....

The fact is the next season ... if we still exist by then. .. will be absolutely horrible. Boring. Monotonous. Violent away games. Terrible atmospheres.

A even lower level of skill. An exodus of current squad. Lack of investment. Loans from the championship. More bleak outlook. Less support. A quarter filled stadium providing a friendly game atmosphere. Ongoing cat fighting between sisu and the council.

Protesters becoming violent with stewards when the protest prolong. Imagine the trouble should we go bottom 3or4 in that league.

Whatever you may believe it is very fool Hardy to believe we will be champions or even promotion hopefuls in our first year. Our realistic position in reality is league 2.

My fear is we won't be around long enough to even be relegated.

Can't agree with the above either, the fact is there is a chance we could compete. We just don't know.

Prefer my outlook to yours!! Everyone slated ROD, CODY and BAKER for being league 1 and unable to make the leap to Championship....why then now they are in League 1 are we saying they are no good? You can wallow in pity if you wish. i doubt we will get rolled over easily. We wasnt rolled over this season, some poor displays but not thumped each week. Plenty of away support and IF we are winning we will get decent crowds at home.IMO

why do the same posters believe this club will bounce back ?

one top 10 finish in 10 years since the prem days states otherwise , losing mentality at this club and going down to div 3 will not change that

you were saying earlier on the season we'd stay up , take your sky blue tinted glasses and look at the bigger picture

no money
no ground
no squad
rubbish owners
rubbish manager

positives
starting 11 will be decent
argubaly biggest club in the league

erm thats it

M&D, there was around 10 or so clubs bigger than us in the championship, and smaller ones spending more! we are probally the 3rd biggest in Div 1. That is why i feel okay about things.

Unsure as to why being posotive about my club is such a crime!!

How is that shocking? Unless we are liquidated then what's so wrong with looking ahead to next season. As it stands, we start next season with no issue.

I completely agree with you on this. The shocking thing I find is supporters so angry that they decide to try and belittle your comments to make themselves feel better. God forbid anybody have a different opinion or outlook to theirs.

I don't see any belittling taking place. Its all about opinions and the internets fault is it does not show meanings behind the words. Its solely upto ones self to decide if a third party is being rude or psarchastic.. thing is if your sensitive and feel a bit vulnerable its best steer clear if forums/chat rooms.

i support the club but we need to be real about the current set up

who belittling ?

i find it very hard how the optimists can come on here and say everything is fine , same happened 10 years ago when we got relegated

fans need to wake up and take the tinted glasses off

thats why the club is in a mess because the fans don’t fight enough about problems thinking everything will be fine , just like the richardson days. its alright coming on here now moaning but what did us fans do about it ?

same applis with sisu

makes me sick

we even had fans last week after millwall saying we’d stay up. fans need to be realistic and stop getting there hopes high

this club is on a downhill spiral which is getting out of control.

I'm sorry, but why is it only your view that's realistic? What do you care what other people think? Have your view, that's fine, I'm not going to try and change it. So why try and change other people's? You won't, especially with the attitude you bring with it. It's more likely people will become increasingly frustrating to you with their opinions.

Remember this time about 11 years ago? We were all going on a season long tour of the Nationwide Division One, we were going to cruise that league with players like Thompson, Carsley, Hartson, Hedman, Kirkland, Chippo, Breen etc.. Didn't quite work out that way did it? Wouldn't suprise me if we end up stuck in mid table in the third division for the next 11 years.

the negatives out way the positives

posters get shot down for slating the team, board etc... but in reality they have good reason for it

nobody wants to see this club struggle but while fans believe next season will be fine under the current hierarchy then the problem will never go away

Why?! Because we have such a big say in club matters?! I'm not saying the negatives don't outweigh the positives, what I'm saying is I believe we can compete in league 1 next season (not walk it) and nobody on this board will change my mind on that. The only thing that will change my mind is the performance of the team.
