Swindon are on a shopping spree... we lost Collins to them.

Now Donny are signing some decent attacking players. They got Sykes ahead of us and now signed welsh winger David Cotterill on a free.

So the prime free transfers we could have got in this league are vanishing one by one.

These are 2 players that really could make a difference in this league with pace and goals.

Such a shame.

Couldn't agree more. We are being left behind. We are going to have a wafer thin squad again.

Or are we?? Untill August 18th we don't no how far behind or how close we are!

We have been told something are happening so lets see if that pays off (i think it will) If it doesn't then we can say we have been left behind!

Lets see how Pre season goes first the arrival of Shaw is a massive positive, lets hope signings back that up!!

I understand the pessimism, but there's still seven weeks or so to go until the start of the season. There is value in holding out until the last minute - certain players / targets may lower there demands if there has been little interest in them, and that would help the club as a whole. I think we get too bogged down with the here and now about this. We don't think enough about the future of the club. I would actually be happy for us to sign no players (as long as relegation isn't on the cards around January) and to end the season on a better financial footing. A bright long term future is better than another gamble that doesn't pay off and kills our club once and for all.

Yes, it would have been nice to have them. Luckily they are not the only two players available.

And, of course, there are seven weeks to go yet.

Not really the squad size but the quality and freshness that new players bring to the team.

Donny seem to be doing what we should. My fear is we always get the leftovers...

Stuart Beavon is still available, 20 goals for relegated Wycombe last season. Plenty of frees still out there.

I believe Beavon is under contract though. Proven goalscorer requiring a fee would probably be out our price range.

Thats when it really hits home eh Mark, when a Wycombe Wanderers striker is probably out of our price range. Sad times.

Rather be in our shoes than Rangers atm.
7 weeks to go, nothing to panic about yet

it was 1 example... My point is we are able to sign players and probably will sign a good few. If, come mid August we're still in the same position, then panic

wow - some positive thoughts!!! i'm 100% with you on this, transfer markt will kick off next week once all those with expriing contracts become free agents, i think we need to give it at least 4 weeks to see whats happened. Embarga has been lifted, Shaw has signed, no players have left (yet), so lets stay positive

None of you digest those accounts?, we utterly haven't got a pot to piss in or a budget that would suggest any signings other than the 6 kids who signed pro forms.

Sadly Ashdown it looks like its going to take this club to go out of existence before most fans realise how bad things are and decide to try to do something to change it

Some also think we can kiss goodbye to £4m turnover and not miss it.
