personally annoyed that we dont feature tbh , there is a certain expectation at a club like coventry as opposed to most of the clubs on that list , well up until a couple of seasons ago we all expected more than we got, no top 6 finish for 40 odd years , 2 relegations , losing our home etc , seems bizzare to say colchester fans have suffered more than us

Don't you think it's ironic that us long suffering City fans don't get mentioned in a list of long suffering fans ?
Methinks they do it to make us suffer more ! Bloody hell we can't even make that list !

maybe its because its been so long since colchester fans have watched their team dazzle opponents in league 1 or 2 that they beat us

It could be how you define long suffering ? Chelsea fans feel hard done by if they lose a couple of matches, but to us that would be considered a good run. Just listen to the phone in programmes after matches, you get Man United fans crying over Moyes, and Arsenal supporters moaning about their lack of a trophy for nine years. In other words they ain't got a clue what suffering is !

I think this suffering is relative to which club you are, what your support expect & what have they done lately. Plus having Vile, Brumigen, Wolfs & all other Midlands suffering to some extend, leaves Cov in a black hole. For suffering, try Pompey or Luton.

We have only suffered for just over ten years. That is not long term suffering. The only problem is that in the last 13 years we have had more problems than most clubs in the last 30 years.

Some of the comments on that article are hilarious!

"What about Newcastle?"

"What about Man City?"

The difference is that 90% of the 'fans' of those clubs chose them because they were famous and/or winning trophies, so they have no basis for complaining when their support is so superficial. I doubt anybody here chose to support City on that basis!

Bingo! I am getting fed up with this 'feel sorry for us' approach. Yes we know its shit but there are teams that have never even come close to the premier league at all.

if we go down this season (still not likely) we would shoot dramatically up that list

Can't see us getting a win in the final matches,so having to rely on those below us slipping up.
We deserve to go on the list for the most bitten down fingernails at the end of most seasons !

Portsmouth?

They have had it bad for less time than we have. Thought it was supposed to be about long suffering fans? Don't playing in the Prem or winning things in recent years count?
