That will be the next reason why we didn't get anybody in.

If we off load Fat Freddy might give some extra room for manoeuvre.... oh shit forgot this SISU

Nobody will come in for him as we are no doubt looking for 100% contribution of wages from another club.....even at 50% if the rumours are true that could be approx 5k per week for a striker who is unfit, has not played first team football for some time and has a history of inconsistancy under three managers!.

I really like Freddy as a player and Thornton when he was around but talk about perception vs reality here and we have a problem.

I doubt it will be a Newcastle player if he is looking for an experienced player. The majority of Newcastle's senior players will surely be on stupid money like 30k+ or something just for the fringe players.

yep which is why i believe it'll be a deadline day deal and we'll get just any random player ala Ward (the one from Bolton, I forget his first name)

Pardew is the only PL manager that has played with Thorn so it has to be Newcastle. Can't think who could possibly fit the experienced bill and is out of the picture with the exception of Lovenkrands. I doubt it will be him unless its a short term until January to get some fitness and put himself in the shop window.

It's just rubbish. I mean according to SISU before the season started they were budgeting to offer contracts to King, Westwood and Gunnarson. What happened to that money?
Then the nonsense about buying half the stadium.
They are like a child seeking publicity.
Interesting Thorn is happy to participate in the nonsense......still in my view he is just a SISU puppet anyway who else would give him a job..and before the outcry if there was another job I am sure he would take it!!

e

I agree and wouldn't blame him if he took another job. We have all had to say or do something we don't fully agree with in our working lives but have had no option because we haven't been able to afford the luxury and needed to keep a job. I see Thorn as no different you can see at times he looks embarresed at the tosh his employers come out with.

Jesus Christ! Nobody's being gullible. It's not gullible to talk about it. Who cares anyway, I mean what exactly is it to you if some people don't want to act fucking suicidal. Insult your your own supporters by calling them mugs... well done.

Unfortunately he will not take another job - who would offer one. What would Billy Davies do in this situation I wonder?

Totally see what your saying mate. I don't remember ever seeing a statement from AT on the club website confirming it tho? He's obviously actively looking for players so why is it not true?

Yeah I remember that bad boy! Thorn seemed quite positive that we had the chance to get someone in. He doesnt normally say anything ( apart from Marlon has said he wants to sign)

"We will hopefully also be successful in attracting some quality loan players later this month to help Andy Thorn."

sorry - not defending them but lets be accurate. We know Thorn went after loan players cause he said so himself but we couldn't afford them. I guess its all well and good telling us we'll hopefully get loans in, cause they're not lying, but then if they give Thorn £2.50 to go negotiate with then we ain't gonna get anyone. Unless we know what the loan budget was when they made that statement we'll never really know the full story.

we will HOPEFULLY be getting in the play offs this season

we will HOPEFULLY be winning the league this season

we will HOPEFULLY be getting something out of tomorrows game

.......................

Just because you put the word "hopefully" in, isnt a get out of jail free. The 1st 2 statements are never going to happen, and the 3rd, prob the same, but still its more realistic. They had litlte, or NO intention of getting a loan in, as AT himself on the offal said yesterday he has been given funds NOW, as opposed to "we have been sitting on funds since that statement on Sept 1st".

Perhaps SISU arent at fault for all of the worlds problems, but they cant keep getting away with these comments and believing that fans will swallow it.

Not getting at you Kingharvest, as we do need to be devils advocates sometimes, but I'm just sick of the "talk" and no actions !

Realistically, I would be surprised if we do get a decent loan. However part of the fun of supporting a football team is talking about these sort of things. Supporting city isn't just about 90 minutes a week, I dont know why people can't just enjoy debating about these sort of things. Its a bloody FORUM.

We are looking at loans - we are hopeful that we can do something with Barcelona about taking Lionel Messi assuming we can come to an arrangement where the Spanish giants take care of 99.99999% of his wages. If it falls through it will be because of a: The intransigence of Barcelona b: The greed of the player c: The player not wanting to play for AT d: The player not wanting to commute from Spain e: AT deciding that the player won't fit into his diamond formation f: AT deciding player won't improve the quality of the squad but above all it won't be SISU's fault we are doing all we can and are hopeful, ever hopeful that the amazingly substantial budget we have allocated to AT will be enough to attract a top player. Surely £2.97 is enough isn't it? Ooops sorry the amount of the budget is obviously undisclosed.

If I was a blackpool fan, debating wether Nial Ranger or Jonjo Shelvey would join us, I would enjoy it. If I was a Crawley fan, debating which of our strikers was going to score the most this season, I would enjoy it. If I was a Charlton fan, debating why we had it so tough, yet with Chris Powell in charge, how well could we do, I would enjoy it. If I was a Notts Forest fan despite being down towards the bottom fo the league, debating which European season was best and which play off we should I won, I would enjoy it etc etc.

However we are Cov fans, with nothing to debate apart from "how much worst can it get"

When you have over 6 pages on "would you support CCFC the pub team, and everyone says yes, you know exactly the state of our club and why its very dificult to have a positive debate about anything at the moment.

The most positive I can possbly be is "we are not going to lose today"
