So it is pretty clear that (for better or worse) loans will be heavily relied upon next season. Given what we have seen this year, how do you think TM will go about it next time around?

Will he be looking for a couple of key players (ala Armstrong/ Murphy) loaned for the whole campaign? Or if they are youngsters again will he be considering 6 month loans (given the drop in form we saw this season) allowing him to bring in new faces for the second part of the season.

There are advantages/ disadvantages of both. Which way do you think he will go? Would you have preferred to have AA for only half the time this year, with someone else coming in after?

Me personally think we had too many loan players last year , I think 4 max at any one time and they would need to be quality youngsters (without attitude) that really want to learn their craft In readiness for a future in the Premiership. It's a very difficult thing to do is manage youngsters as well you know if you have teenagers going on to thinking they are adults who know everything. I think Jacob Murphy was a shining example of just that and Armstrong was the model of what we should be looking for (I.e. Sensible beckham/ Michael Owen types)

Aren't the rules changing, and there will no longer be a 'loan window' after the transfer window shuts?

Assuming the exception for GK's will remain though.

Will mean we have to get the right people in first time!

At the end of the day we will have to rely on loans once again this season unless TM produces some magic and manages to bring in an excess of 10 permanent signings. I think the mistake last season was not how many loans TM bought in but the amount he used and relied upon them. AA and JM were ever present throughout the campaign. They were 18 and 20 respectively when they came in, their talent is undeniable but to play them consistently in a 46 game season after they have come from U21 football is a huge gamble. So if TM is going to bring in as many loans as last season which seems to be likely, he'll need to realise to know when to use them to maximise effectiveness otherwise we are just going to suffer a repeat of last season or worse.

Yeah, seems an odd decision as it almost forces football league clubs to stockpile players just in case....

That's what Sheffield United have done ! Have you seen how many players they have now got, totally un sustainable if they fail to get promoted. I think Bolton have done the same as well

I don't think we will be either but we're not exactly far off it now are we so it'd be ignorant to say it's not a possibility

So who would you replace him with. TM and MV are a team and we are lucky to have them.
Besides, we will not be bottom ( or bottom 4) at Xmas.
