Few people had previously mentioned Giles on here, thought he was fucking terrible on Saturday.

Yeah I’ve said his name a couple of times but seems non existent against us. Still a player in there from the Cardiff, middlesboro days but definitely makes me think twice on him.

If we get a few more positive results over the next few weeks its going to be an interesting window. Im not sure Lampard will show his complete hand but some of the current squad are going to know what's coming that's for sure.

If Doug gets more confident in what he sees Lampard is going to get well backed in my opinion.

I don't think FL would've agreed to join unless there were guarantees about budget being available.

That being said, undoubtedly DK would've reaffirmed that a huge amount of revenue has been pumped into this squad and that FL needs to look to get the most out of what's already here.

He might have said get us to the end of the season and reassess from there. From what he said at the fans' forum, King seems to have his eyes on staying up in the first instance (if he really did believe that Robins would take us down).

Would rather swerve Giles, the guy cannot defend, literally better off having one of us in this group playing at left back

Granted he can do a decent job going forward, but he hasn't shown anything promising in a while.

We need a player that is similar to Bidwell but is physically more mobile, someone that is quicker and can defend.

I'm not sure what to think about that. On one hand I'm happy that King has realistic expectations, but on the other I want greater ambition than avoiding the third division

Problem is with the loan market is its more kids.

We need experience right now, especially at the back.

Almost every goal we concede is someone's fault. Its never just because the opposition were good. If we were just a bit more organised in defence we'd be flying now

I suspect that's probably the case. The short term goal is quite obviously to stop the rot and bring players back into form.

Even come summer though I still think that further investment of any significance will hinge on outgoings.

It's just reality / pragmatism for the moment isn't it? No point in dreaming at this stage

I think his argument was that the best players might leave if we substantially under-performed and the rebuild process starts all over again.

You'd think to a certain extent it must do anyway? The four year contracts I have always assumed were to protect the player's value for a sale after two years

But we'd want that wouldn't we so that we maximise fees,,self evident really for any team and the concerns were there in the close season about adding experience both defence and midfield .

It's quality that counts.

Do you remember these two, Luke McNally and Callum Doyle, 20 clean sheets that season wasn't it.

So you can pick up some good young kids.

We had this young lad on loan called Jordan Henderson once, whatever happened to him?

Yes. with a seasoned no nonsense pro in between them, they were brilliant. Sadly we lack the no nonsense seasoned pro to carry it off now

Louie Barry recalled from Stockport back to Aston Villa. 24 goals in 43 games. Villa want him playing at a higher level.

Barry to return to Villa Park - Stockport County

Stockport County can confirm that forward Louie Barry is set to be recalled from his loan spell by parent club...

Would definitely end up scoring 1 in 20 for us if he came here
