The media seem to be getting into a wankfest about Liverpool scraping a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury with a young team.

How much did the "young team" cost Liverpool compared to a League One Club? It would have been tens of millions just for that "young team".

Similar to the one that got pumped by Villa a few months ago. Klopp took the piss last night

They also pumped Everton.

There's a bit of difference between Villa and Shrewsbury, those players beating Shrewsbury should be expected rather than the Wankathon it seems to be.

If any media gushing should be happening really Oxford should be getting it, only undone by a wonder goal at the end

Also wonder why Klopp is happy to basically write off these tournaments when there was a quadruple there for the taking. Maybe just to guarantee the league and best shot at CL?

His owners (American) told him to ignore the FA cup and League Cup

Unfortunately for Liverpool the only things that matter are premier league and champions league.

For the rest of the premier league...the importance is a)avoid relegation, b)finish as high as possible in PL, c)challenge for Europe
And ....oh d) try and win a a few cup games against plebs if and only if it doesn’t interfere with our week or two off.

They’re 4 wins away from Winning the Double, the league is already in the bag. They seem to care more about setting records than winning trophies. Modern football is shit.

I've just posted in our own cup thread
I just don't understand offside any more.
Was the guy they pinned it on ever active?
Anecdotally it seems to me to favour Liverpool in games I've seen on TV
I might harbour an underdog bias mind you .

They need to provide another Champions League place to the FA Cup Winner.

If the winner is in the top 3 then the runner up gets the spot. If the runner up is in the top 3 then it goes to 4th place

Would improve things massively by all accounts.

He was making a protest that the Premier league winter break was not being fully honoured - it was misguided but effectively it was a strike

Just looked at the Prem fixtures for this week, the absolute state of it. Complete mess up from the FA including 5th round.
