Coventry and Warwickshire is set to get 15 hours of snow as Storm Darcy batters Britain. The Met Office forecast for the city and the county is of snow until gone midnight tonight. The snow will vary between light showers and heavy ones but is set to be persistent. Parts of Warwickshire are also subject to a yellow weather warning as a result of Storm Darcy. The Met Office is also predicting temperatures will not get above freezing all day. Its forecast for Coventry and Warwickshire today says: "A frosty start, icy for many, and lying snow for some. Patchy cloud will bring further snow showers, these most frequent in the west and generally drier to the west. Strong winds throughout, feeling bitterly cold. "This evening and tonight, snow showers will continue, along with dry spells throughout the night, remaining windy. Drier further south. Feeling very cold, with ice and frost developing. Minimum temperature -2 °C." While parts of the UK, including Nottinghamshire, have amber weather warnings, yellow warnings are more prominent. However, the yellow weather warning for snow just misses Coventry, but does cover parts of Warwickshire, including Rugby. To sign up for our newsletter, delivered free to your inbox, click here.
