Best bet for live bands would be the colly or the golden cross i think. Haven't been in cov town for a few years mainly because it's a shit hole.

The Showcase Live comedy used to be a good night out, not sure if it's on at the moment?

The Longford Engine has a lot of local live bands on Friday and Saturday nights (my Dad's band played there last Friday) but in terms of the City Centre it all depends on what you're in to really.

The Kasbah (Colly) has a website with all their upcoming events on, a few of which seem pretty good and also Mortimers seem to get the occasional guest in from off the TV.

A lot of people have told me to go to the Cross as well but as of yet haven't been there. Doubt everyone would recommend it if it's rubbish though.

Ah bugger, it's meant to say my Dad's band, will edit it quickly now....was trying to type and talk on the phone at the same time. Us blokes seriously cannot multi-task.

It's not a bad little pub to be honest. Always seems quite a friendly place, never been any trouble when I've been there.

It's mostly classic rock. Bit of Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Bad Company mixed in with a bunch of their own songs and then some slightly newer stuff like Creed, Nickelback and Oasis.

The Arche's has an open mic session every Sunday from 16.30 for anybody who fancies playing, and they have got live bands on every week these days since they did the back room out. It's a smart little venue these days.
