If I could have your attention

There are times when the club in a season reaches a cross roads

To me this season that is today. I previously started a thread on the same vein with Robins and was proved right as the car crash unfolded

In many areas the club has some could players who could make this a successful season.

We criminally lack any forwards who top 6 teams would want or we get the goals to dry up. Simms and Bassette are duds. BTA finds the Lampard way and stops scoring. Gyokeres and Hamer escape the Lampard way and start scoring.

It is still possible to turn the season around. A different style and crucially new forwards. The rest of the team is competitive and capable

Like Ipswich we are slumping.

What do we do? Stick or twist?

The taxi is warming up and needs to be heading to Coventry unless a change of approach and personnel is adopted soon.

Let’s get real. Any championship club would take Simms, Wright, Bassette, Rudoni and EMC. There’s absolutely no pressure on Lampard as of now if we have any credibility. We’ve lost in injury time. It’s gutting. But it happens. What we don’t need is ridiculous knee jerk reactions.

Any championship club would take Wright. That's it. He's the only one who would walk in every team in this league.

It's a play on words from a previous thread. Don't panic if you're not old-school it probably all means very little.

I could not disagree more.
The problem is not at the top end. (Although admittedly they are not currently shining brightly)
The problem is everywhere else. Dodgy keepers make defenses nervous, and fragile, inexperienced defenses even more so.
Fragile defenses pressurize midfields who are lacking creativity and forced to look backwards because they cannot trust what is behind them.
All of which means that attackers are starved and confidence is shot.
And with Wright, EMC and Saka all out, this is not the time to judge the front line.

I think the problem is definitely the engine room, we need to find a hard man in the middle our midfield has no fight

It's bad when Jamie Allen showed more aggression in there than anybody for weeks.
