One of whom is employed.

Can we pay compensation or would ACL attempt to seize the money?

Hopefully it will be Black - not sure I could take the endless jokes from OTIS if it's Pressley

Nobody think Andy Morrell is the 'employed' one out of the two? Or has this been denied somewhere?

Interesting.....

Presley does seem to be heavily linked so wouldn't be surprised if he was the employed one

But Robins was never linked with us and then boom out of nowhere he was the man who took us forward.. Waggott said last night that any of the Managers who had been on the BBC link that day weren't of the managers he had been speaking too so that rule out most people hoping for Black...

Agreed. Pressley has been quietly but consistently backed at the bookmakers since Robins left, despite no media reports (until lately) linking him to the club. Smacked of some inside knowledge. Whereas Black was always just such an obvious candidate to go for.

I do hope Eric returns - it would be the first genuinely exciting news out of the club for a good while.

Although I kinda want Black to get the job, it was 10 years ago he was here. Things have changed massively since then, we've got even less money for a start. And he still hasn't proven himself as a manager yet, not that it means to much. The clubs he has been at as an assistant have been able to bring players in, something he is unlikely to be able to do here. We need somebody who can coach what we have got, and before anybody points out that's what he is known for, he was caching at Sunderland when Bruce was sacked and then at Blackburn under Steve Kean. So is he that good a coach?

I still want him here though, just to try and put that particular wrong, right!

You are not alone in having these doubts about Black, but I just don't think many of them hold up to scrutiny.

1. The 10 years don't matter; he has spent that time coaching at higher levels, rather than sitting in the armchair like George Graham.

2. He hadn't proved himself as a manager when he did so well last time. Nor does being a 'proven manager' actually mean anything; the likes of Reid, Dowie, Boothroyd and Adams all had promotions behind them, but our best managers have been the unprovens like Nilsson and Black.

3. He may have had resources at other clubs, but he had little-to-none when he was here the first time. One of the things that makes him so fondly-remembered is how he managed to turn a bunch of scrubs into a team that could hammer in five goals. That's exactly the type of manager who can get the most out of what's available.

None of this is to say he would be a success a second time around. There are no guarantees. But he has more about him to be enthusiastic about than pretty much any other realistic managerial choice I could think of.

The employed candidate referred to will be Lee Carsley. They all speak like Politicians to try and build a bit of hype.

This is the bit for me. He worked wonders with no transfer budget last time around. Dunno if he could do it again, but the chance that he could is more enamouring than the alternative managers being mooted.

I wonder why Wise hasn't got much of a mention this time?

We scored 4, 5 and 6 under Black.

Yes we were inconsistent, but he was working with a bunch of misfits and said himself we lacked a bit of physicality and were outmuscled at times and that, that was something he intended addressing in the close season.

He was of course sacked however.

There's one on Granby Street that changes its name every few weeks. Last time I went there, the night finished up with an unfunny bloke in a dress who seemed to think he didn't have to be funny because he was wearing a dress and that in itself was funny. It wasn't. At all.

Oh, and we have the Leicester Comedy Festival. I didn't go to any of it this year. Can you tell?
