Clearly not as she would have banged in a volley from 40 yards at our place

around 20K I would guess. said at the outset they'd priced it too high for the casual supporter.

If women had invented the game the goals would have been slightly smaller, surely. There are no end of 6-0 7-1 results because the goals are too big. Perhaps the whole pitch generally as well. They look lost out there. Take a yard out length wise and a couple of feet of width. The pitch was designed for men and it's about time it was tweaked for the women...so to speak.

Ok at the top level but where are they going to play on a Sunday as the pitches are marked and there isn’t a massive amount of spare pitches

It'll never happen but it should really. You'd think women's football was huge given the demand for pay parity and massive media coverage. It's total bollocks and what you say is absolutely spot on. It won't happen because no one would ever think it's worth the cost.

I’m all for the girls/women’s game but you make a fair point - you really notice the difference when you see Mary Earps (or any WSL team) keeper stood in the goal compared to the men’s keepers. They look so small in them.

Absolutely. It just makes the keepers less than competent but they just look tiny. I don't know the average height of female keepers in the super league but it would be interesting to know.

But they could have the money for all the pitches they could ever need if somebody ever got hold of the fa and it’s wasteful ways.

Is there anything so very wrong with more goals? (I think) The size of the goal has been broadly the same since the 1860's. I could be wrong but gut says keepers were probably not as tall on average/as acrobatic then as they are now and outfield players run further during 90 than they did even 20 years ago. Apparently goals per game is on a gradual downward trend. Maybe a slightly higher scoring game with more space in the park is what men had in mind when it was invented.

I mean, there's no real calls for pay parity, is there? Bar Lewes WFC who pay their men and women the same.

Having worked with a number of professional womens clubs, I know for a fact that they all understand there's less money in the womens game because the womens game pulls in a lot less in marketing/TV revenue etc.

In Charles Charlie Charles' day the keeper would spend most of the game smoking a pipe.
