See below my team for next season, based on the following assumptions
- we get relegated
- Clingan and Cranie leave on frees
- SISU cash in on Keogh and Murphy
- Eastwood and Herman are released
- all the loanees return to their present clubs
- our loanees return to us
- no new signings (possibly due to embargo / SISU tightwads
---------------Dunn
McPake---Cameron----Wood--Hussey
Bell-----Deegan---Thomas----Baker
---------McDonald---McShffrey(c)
Subs: Ireland, Christie, Bigirimana, ROD, Platt
On paper it looks like a team that could challenge for the L1 play-offs. We may make a few new signings and get a better run with injuries next year. I can feel the optimism returning already.
I really don't think people grasp quite how hard work League One will be. There is no body in that team who have ever proved themselves to be beyond adequate at that level. Those teams who recently went down and straight back up we all on a much more sucure financial footing. This allowed them to keep players who were used to performing at Championship level. That team would be, at best, mid table.
you have to hope that McDonald will come good and him and Platt could be quite useful in that League, howvever ROD has a better record at that level than McDoanld
