Got our money back on Bellamy. I suspect we never really did with Garry Collier.

Fair Point but I think we did get on our money back on Gary Collier. Didnt we lose out on David Jones ?

Not stuck to 25 years but they all played in the top flight and most for the same manager.

One made 100 appearances - how god knows.

That is a team of nightmares. I shuddered when I read some of the names. Which Barnes, Peter or the fullback David. Didnt Spring leave us and follow Gould to Bristol Rovers, and then got potted for burglary a short while later?

Nearly all under Goulds first stint as manager. Funnily enough we also had money problems then, and had to sign most on free transfers. Without Terry Gibson's goals we would have been down.

I've always been very suspicious given collier was sold to the American club.

Yes David jones and collier arrived on the same day didn't they. I remember jones scoring from 25 yards against stoke - in his own net - the most spectacular own goal ever. I think he cost £250,000 and ended up in Japan. Crap player and he and collier were very odd signings.

Laurent Delorge, seem to recall we had to pay him £1m to leave.

Goalkeepers, first choice Rafael Nuzzo, played one league cup game in 1999 against Tranmere and conceded 5 goals, never seen him again:thinking about:. Second choice keeper, stay with me on this, David Speedie for his only appearance in net against Millwall at the Old Den, if I remember rightly he just let the fourth goal in as he thought it was going wide:facepalm:. Thankfully Speedie would make a top 11.

Peter Barnes -- wizard of the drivel. Yes I think Spring got caught selling dodgy TV's.

How did Jacobs manage 100 games?

Adam Virgo.. what a useless tosser he was. That home game that Palace were 4-0 up in just over half an hour - just dreadfully bad, I'll never forgive him for it.

Other worthy contenders are Wayne Andrews (open goal at Norwich again, haunting), Ellery Cairo, Neil Wood and Trevor Benjamin.

I remember that game, Adam Virgo looked 20% fit at best. Was definitely not match ready, bizarre.

Christian Negouai, 1 game was it? the single worst pro footballer I have ever seen I think, which is hilarious when you think
Kevin Keegan said he was the most exciting player he had ever signed!!!!
http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/Fans/ForwardWithNegouai.aspx

Must have been a big brown envelope that came with Christian I think Kevin.

When you mentioned that, my thoughts jumped to John Williams....early 90's if I remember rightly. I'm sure he was a part-time Postie and we signed him from Swansea. I think he was the fastest leage footballer over 100m then, according to something that was probably recorded for Match or Shoot magazine.

Probably one of the first footballers I saw that made me realise as a young kid that they are human after all. Spent more time on his arse than with the ball. Awful truly awful.

Freddy Eastwood ... yeah, forgot about how awful he was. Shame really, since he came to the club with so much potential and just failed to live up to it ... ever ?

Sammy Clingan was alright to be fair ... I don't recall him in a bad light particularly.

Clingan was a decent enough player at Champ level for us, until he went missing in the relegation season whilst captain.

Where the hell is he now?

So glad someone has already mentioned Sebastian Olszar.

Freddy Eastwood is quite comfortably the most infuriating player I've seen play for us.

At the risk of being controversial I don't reckon Peter Reid would be people's number 1 villain/pick for worst ever manager if he hadn't have got the job the way he did in the first place after the bizarre sacking of Eric Black.

Also, I won't nominate Dowie because he gave me two great nights in Blackburn and Manchester. Don't worry, I insisted he put a paper bag over his head throughout the aforementioned time.

Am I imaging things but didn't Jean Guy-Walleme:
A) have a man of the match performance in a 0-0 draw at Highfield Road?
B) look like a musketeer?
