I was told he’s one of the only vocal ones in the dressing room. Made a huge scene about nobody standing up for Tats with Callum Doyle. I think it’s exactly what is needed right now.

He lost the plot after the first red card mind you. More red cards followed, own goals, looked very exposed for lack of pace etc.

You see while I’ve heard his a prick I actually complete believe this group need someone to be a bit of a prick.

It’s all too nice at the moment which means no one on the pitch sets any standards.

Would start him and give him the armband. If he’s as good as he thinks, prove it imo

I’ve no problem with bringing him back into the side but the idea he’s become our captain-in-waiting is a little ridiculous

This group laughs with the opposition after they get twatted by them.

Exactly that, no leadership on the pitch forcing standards and mentality. Not saying Kitching is the answer but feel we should explore it considering how much we paid

The bottom line is he makes some bad mistakes mainly due to lack of concentration.
Is he worth another go instead of saying Binks, Yes.
I'm not over optimistic though.
It's probably another case of our wishful thinking of whoever isn't currently playing will make a big difference when they come in. Ala Sheaf, Saka returning,

Not had a settled back line all season which is partly why so many soft goals are coughed up. FL needs to work out his best keeper and defence then stick to it.

Maybe managers just don’t fancy centre backs who get sent off 3 times in one season?

That doesn’t make them a bad player, just means they’ve made some bad decisions . Tough, tenacious and vocal does make a good centre half though.

There are loads of players out there who are unpopular in their group, but results are better with them. We’ve had a few of them

I don't think it is ridiculous, it just shows how weak this current crop of players are, Kitching is willing to put his head in where it hurts, willing to take bookings, willing to partake in the dark arts and rough up the opposition. He's prone to errors and lacks a bit of pace but he's a better defender than Binks and Sheaf has shown nothing in a year of being captain that he deserves to retain that role, when the going gets tough he goes hiding.

I think because things have been so bad recently there's a bit of straw clutching going on here.
But in our current state its a bit of straw clutching I can get on board with.

He gets sent off every dozen or so games, makes huge errors and has been booted out of the side by a younger player who cost half as much. If that’s captain material then yes, it’s plainly ridiculous.

No one is saying he's the long term solution, just we need some leadership amongst this squad. The team is far too soft. 2 of his sending offs were as last man against quicker forwards, IIRC, he was positionally poor for one of them, and the other was immediately after a substitute at left back where DaSilva instantly let his man go, we go on to win those games, it looks like a great decision to take those cards and the other was being headbutted by the Sheff Wednesday centre half.

I just don't see Liam Kitching being answer to our woes.

So many mistakes in transfer dealings.
Hard to begin. Simms and Wright were the wrong purchases.
The hole in central midfield for this season was an obvious major issue.
Not having cover for Milan.
Not checking out fully Liam Kitching fully and transfer fee was crazy
Genuinely no idea what has gone on with the four goalkeepers we have had in last three seasons

Tbf fair one of the sendings off was after the game at ended and in response to him being assaulted and really harsh. The other two were taking one for the team, you can argue the one against Blackburn earned us a draw. There's a few times this season our players have let players go and noy taken one for the team

If what I heard today about the Palmer fee is true (and it's a big if), we might get our money back

As a pairing , hasn't really worked. They were both expensive and could have done better with the money. Wright has some good games and similar volume of ineffective ones too.

Looked okay when he came on as well I thought. Was aggressive and won a few decent headers.

At one point he did do the classic Kitching move of being lured too far into midfield to challenge a ball, leaving a massive gap behind him and so then had to do a panicked sprint back, but I'd like to see him get a start in the next couple of games

If Binks and Lati hadn’t been exposed, that be alright but they have been and our record with them in the team is worse than with Kitching in the team.
