What was the timescale on his knee injury?

Has there been any recent news on this?

Hope he's back soon!

Think he was due back at the end of pre-season.

I think Robins said he and Godden were doing light training so I imagine he won't be ready to start for a little while.

He's a little injury prone these days.

Hopefully Sheaf can step up this season because we're going to need him big time.

Still can’t believe some on here think he’d have been more important than James.

As far as I know he's over the injury and is now back from illness

Yep Robins mentioned this recently. The illness has put him behind in his recovery from injury in regards to his fitness, but he is now back in training.

He was back in training and then had covid which was quite bad by all accounts and stopped him training for a while he has now restarted

Yeah but so would the balance sheet had we signed him.
Let's get behind Sheaf and drive him to excel.

Lovely post but let’s get real we are weaker than last season and as it stands are gonna be in another relegation battle

Kelly is a miss but sheaf after last season will have learnt from Kelly and James ,but it is a big season for him with so many fans thinking he's not up to the job.

Dah I've just realised it's pretty close to the Millennium Dome in Greenwich.

Eccles may establish himself this season so it won't just be Sheaf filling in for Kelly.

I think Sheaf is a good player and I expect him to do well this season. But we are considerably weaker for James leaving.

James was absolute class and IMO it was a massive loss not getting him, but he may get another injury and we will have dodged a bullet. I would still have taken the risk as he is that good. Kelly just seems to organise the team properly and we need him in the starting 11 ASAP. Thought he would be out until the end of August and then he has to get up to speed.

Why do we get so many hip injuries - isn't that Dabo, Rose, Sheaf and now Eccles?!
