We foiled the stewards today. We had one letter each on our t-shirts but cleverly sat in a different order which confused them: SUSI TOU. One steward did question us, but we just said it was a Japanese popstar.

I have lost my Duvet cover, thing i saw it on tele about 6pm last night

I'll be writing a letter of complaint to the bloke who stood up to watch the stewards and blocked my view of the match and then told me he paid for his seat and can do what he wants. Yeah I pay for my seat too mate and I'd like to watch the match!

The lad who got lifted out is a regular in the Wheatsheaf and a number of the people that went down to support him having seen him pushed down a row of seats know him from there. He's a longstanding supporter. My views will be made known via contactusnew_wmp [contactus@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk], if anyone has any better contcts please add to the thread.

Perhaps the idiots who were also punching police officers in the back of their heads could also write in and leave their details. I'm sure they will be very interested along with the guy who got arrested who should never have been in the ground in the first place as he was pissed and acting like an idiot from what I've been told

You're a fucking mug mate, that guy did nothing wrong. It was them arsehole bully boys who think they're hard cause they've got a uniform on

I didnt see any police by me, Block 28. As you know I do film action from the games and was tempted to film some of the trouble between fans and stewards but didnt want to make the situation worse or have my camera confiscated.

He wasn't drunk at all mate, despite what you've been "told". The lads who went over the top and started being violent, I understand your point. But after the way that lad was treated I'm not overly surprised. Have you seen the photos by chance? Or see the young lad getting poleaxed by a copper running in to throw his weight around?

Back on topic interesting point in that FSF guidelines:

They have no legal power to force you to have your photograph taken. Do not allow
them to do this. This too will be kept on file for SEVEN years. Keep your head turned
away, or put your hand in front of your face.

Anyone else see the Bobby with the video camera? Is this how they get around "photos". I know I'm certainly on camera.

Anyone got the details for the clubs safety officer?

Might contact the FA/FL as well actually, worried that we'll get a fine for crowd trouble when it was completely not their fault.

This was the response from the Chief inspector for Coventry "@Skyblu3sk @Coventry_Police Officers should display their numbers at all times, I will speak to the Bronze commander who was in charge." To another lady that was complaining he said "@marieluc please feel free to e mail me k.blakeman@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk I would like to know more details, Kerry"

I am writing regarding an incident that took place at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday 10th September during the Coventry Derby game. Halfway through the first half while a banner was confiscated in the Telegraph stand a policeman whose name and number was not on view, aggressively and unnecessary approached a fan that was standing up. The supporter in question felt singled out considering hundreds of fans behind him were also standing up. A confrontation began with words exchanged and a few more police officers arrived who then pushed the gentleman down the stairs. I also witnessed and elderly lady with a walking stick pushed by the officers. This incited an incident which I believe if policed in the right way could have been avoided. Instead friends of the said gentleman and fellow supporters were angry by the police methods and actions.
I am writing on 2 points.

I was under the impression all police officers on duty need to have on view name and number? This was not the case

The police actions instigated the trouble which occurred during the first half.

I would like to know what actions will be taken against the officers in question

Very similar to mine Mumford, I ask more people to send details as well. Here's mine:

Dear Chief Inspector Blakeman,

I'm writing to you today to request some information and to give you a close hand account of Saturdays details.

Firstly, I'd like to request information on Officers Identification Numbers, as one Officer in Block 15-16 was NOT wearing any identification numbers. This is the flashpoint that caused all the scenes of unrest in the corner of the Tesco stand on Saturday. It was not helped by Stewards heavy handed approach and cowardly use of pushing female Stewards to the forefront of the trouble, this however I understand is out of your remit.

I'd also like information and clarification on the useage of video cameras by Officers at Saturdays game. According to the Football Supporters Federation's STAND UP SIT DOWN guidelines:

"They[the Police] have no legal power to force you to have your photograph taken. Do not allow
them to do this. This too will be kept on file for SEVEN years. Keep your head turned
away, or put your hand in front of your face."

So I was wondering if video footage falls under a different law? I certainly know that I am camera at yesterday's game and am upset that I am so due to just being in close proximity to a flashpoint.

As for details of events, the man who was ejected from Block 16 on Saturday, calmly asked one of the Officers on duty why he wasn't wearing his numbers. The Officer in question, gave him a very short answer and stalked away to the top of the stairs while another Officer who seemingly had no reason to get involved got very irate and aggressive toward the man in question. Which brought more Officers, numberless one included, down the stairs and caused the scenes you've no doubt seen.

I'd like to enclose an image that you may or may not have seen. [enclosed in attachments]. As you can see from the image, the man ejected has been quite heavily restrained and still has not raised his arms in defence. This is after being bent over seats and shoved around by the Officers. Myself and my Father were nearly knocked over chairs in our own seats after yet more Officers ran onto the scene.

I understand that sometimes things get caught up in the moment, that's certainly what happened on Saturday and I don't applaud some members of the support charging down to push the Police out. But we all watched in horror at the Officers behaviour and it was very difficult to do nothing, if possible I would like a clarification of the above points and if suitable an apology to the Supporters in Block 15 and 16 would be appreciated.

Part of the job writing reams and reams of emails to community groups who are aren't playing ball but you've got to stay courteuous. I'm 19 and I feel like I've aged 15 years by biting my tongue every time

I'm wondering if anyone will be writing to AT and the lads to apologise on behalf of the fans for the disturbance, as apparently it coincided with our worst spell (I wouldn't know as I was watching the trouble and not the match). I appreciate that it wasn't the fans fault, but we were there to support the squad and should apologise for our part in the disturbances, it takes two to tango.

I'd happily do it if I had a contact details for them. Would Tweet a few lads but don't want to get them in any trouble. Twitters a double edged sword for those lads.

I'm a professional designer and I shouldn't be getting distracted by this, maybe I should sit on the dole as I'm obviously not fit to be at work.:thinking about:

No in all seriousness I don't see the harm, if you're writing numerous letters, in sending one to the squad to let them know that above all we are on their side, do you? I mean it can't do any harm to thank them for their efforts throughout.

I understand both points but I was thinking about this this morning, when you're on as much as some of these lads, especially Prem players you should be able to zone out the shiney whirleygigs and the noise.

Otherwise, surely Barca would be constantly on edge with all the whistling, screaming, banging, flares and nonsense that goes on in La Liga and such?

I get where people are coming from saying it was distracting, it obviously was. But I repeat myself, the SISU out banners and such was very low-key, bit of booing, bit of chanting. It wasn't under the police waded in that there was a flash point.

I'll happily write and apologise for that, but I think Andy understand it's not our fault.

Spot on, there was nerves and a bit of tension until the flashpoint. That united fans and drove us on to really belt out some songs. The Andy Thorn's Sky Blue Army really rattled the Block 15 stand, you could feel that usually annoying drum building you up to sing!

Easily the best atmosphere we've had since Leeds, I was exhausted.

I think the atmosphere was great before what happened, The incident may have raised temperatures, but the atmosphere was already excellent.
