I also got an email forwarded from Pressley. A bit unusual I thought, but the sentiment was there.............

Agabi and Associates.
Solicitors and Advocates.
5th floor, Unity House.
Lagos.

Dear Mr Houchens Head,

I am Mr. Paul Agabi, a Lawyer by profession. I am the personal attorney to Mr. Charles Houchens - Head , a national of your country, who used to work with Chevron Oil Exploration Company in Nigeria, herein after shall be referred to as my client.

On the 21st of April 2000, my client, his wife and their onlye child were involved in a car accident along Lagos - Ibadan express road. All occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost there lives.

Since then I have made several enquiries to your embassy to locate any of my clients extended relatives. This has proved unsuccessful. I came to know about you through an enquiry I was making in the internet, and I found out you shared the same surname with my client, which is why I have decided to contact you, in order to assist in repatriating the money and property left behind by my client before they get confiscated or declared unserviceable by the bank.

Particularly, in a local commercial bank here where the deceased had an account valued at about US$ 15.5 Million Dollars, has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the account confisticated within the next ten official working days.

Since i have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 2 years now I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased since you have the same last name so that the proceeds of this account valued at US$15.5 Million Dollars can be paid to you and then you and me can share the money, on the ratio of 50% for me, and 50% for you.

I have all necessary legal documents that can be used to back up any claim we may make. All I require is your honest co-operation to enable us see this business through. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.

Please get in touch with me by email and send to me your telephone and fax numbers to enable us discuss further about the details of this transaction.

Best regards, Mr. Paul Agabi.

It could be, or it could be trying to get a better crowd to generate more income for January, or to create a better atmosphere for the team, or to try to engage with dissinterested fans again in light of much criticism (rightly so) of their shit PR. It could be all of them or something else, who knows.

I am not a fan of SISU, but trying to engage with fans is at least an attempt at a step in the right direction.

I am sure once the novelty factor has gone with Wasps, they might be trying the same thing next winter when their attendances have dropped sharply.

Will be interesting to compare our first gate back at the RICOH and the response to the second game dropped by 50% - wonder what the WASPs will get?

They are giving away free tickets again and a buy one get one free deal to some who are paying for the game Sunday so the comparison will not really be valid until the deals stop.

At least we can say that when we had a huge attendance against Gillingham that everyone paid to get in, cheap or not. Wasps can't say that, can they?

The e-mail which I received sounded as if it could have been written by SP although I suspect that it wasn't. It is an obvious attempt to save some face in the light of the huge attendance at the Wasps game.

And if Wasps had done something similar then Italia would have started a thread on it saying why don't CCFC ever do this!

I see it as SISU desperately trying to make money until the inevitable happens.

SP never wrote that. Waggot did.

Are you the same Coop on the CT site who embarrassingly gushes over Anne Lucas?

Whereas if it were Wasps it would be amazing PR and Sisu should take a leaf out of their book. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I don't care about the Wasps, only some of you geeks do. Don't bother me one tiny bit.!

It's a tiny step in the right direction.

This needed to be an article in the CET and a interview in CWR. That way they get a story and the club would have got free advertising.

It's like when a celeb does an interview its purely to promote their programme or book.

It should have been SP on radio and in the CET. Talking about the team, the January transfer window, the pitch, the dressing rooms and then this match with the appeal.

It's hard to knock an attempt to encourage fans to attend and the prices are very reasonable, I'm sure the crowd will be inflated by both ploys. What I will say though is that this should be standard and that their database should be expanded to encompass all of the supporters { I never received it, despite receiving receipts for purchases this season}. I think they may have lost a lot of info when they pulled the plugs and abandoned the Ricoh for Bayton Rd all those moons ago.
SISU are completely unprofessional in almost everything they do, they have no idea how to run this club and it shows in so many aspects but at least trying to engage with the fans here is a step forward !

Huge attendance whereby probably 66% of the tickets will be given away for free? Hardly comparing apples with apples is it??

I just read that in excess of 26,000 of which 3000 were 'give a ways' to School kids. No doubt a number of freebies to JLR suppliers/ dealer/ customers/employees, but I doubt very much that your stats of two thirds were given away free is even close to the mark. But lets say 50% are given away. That means 13,000 paid. Bloody hell, if we get 13,000 on Saturday at a tenner a go I would be happy.

Totally agree with you Grendel but I'm sure that won't stop those who seem enamoured with Wasps pointing out how fantastic their attendances are over and over again.

Think it will be next season that will be the real indication. Imagine there will be a lot less tickets floating around by then and the free transport for existing season ticket holders will stop. They'll have to persuade the London / Wycombe based supporters it's worth renewing or sell to an equivalent number of new season ticket holders. Thats a much tougher job than getting someone to turn up when you're given them a free ticket.
