'They're a very good footballing side. And, if they can keep that sort of atmosphere here for all their home games, teams could really melt.'
I know tonight was a one off, but it did show the potential of the club, we need success to bring the crowds in, we need the crowds to bring success. Before tonight I was unsure about going up against Yeovil, lost the habit, but after tonight how could you miss it!
Well done to all the lucky ones who had tickets, please lets do all we can to come back!
I think all that's relevant as the season goes on - but they'll be a bit of a bounce going in to next week that will boost it.
You did get the feeling 2 seasons ago that crowds had bottomed out though, so who knows. Lack of ST holders might be an issue though, especially for night games.
Undoubtedly the gates will die down but I find it hard to believe that a lot who were there last night won't be going back and there was a lot of people who couldn't get a ticket for last night and a good percentage of these will still be itching to go. I also reckon that there will be a big clamour for season tickets this week. If we can average 15k this season that would be great, be nice if it's more.
One thing that I did find uplifting last night was the number of late teens and early twenty somethings in the crowd. It was a young crowd last night and this can only bode well for the future.
Take out Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal where demand out stripes capacity.
Every football clubs gates correlate the to success.. Big gates follow
1) a winning team
2) an entertaining team
in that order.
if we want to keep the momentum the pricing of tickets has to be right...to keep bums on seats.
