We’re still top.

We need to hit 1.88 PPG in the remaining 17 games to hit 90.

Aim has to be 32 points. Could be less but 90 points does it imo.

We have 9 more home games. We’re strong home. Win them all plus get what we can on the road. There will be an away win or 2 I’m sure.

Boro need to hit 2.11ppg to overtake us with our GD.

Ipswich need to hit 2.27 ppg to overtake us on our GD.

The last thing we need to do right now is pretend everything is alright and sweep it under the carpet.

No, the world isn't about to end (probably), but we need a reaction and fast otherwise we aren't going up.

We're not getting to 90 points so this Boro need 2.11 ppg and Ipswich needing 2.27 ppg is rubbish.

The away end was crap tonight. It’s not like the fans are provoking a reaction

Let's not. We have been shite since November.Lucky to beat Leicester and Millwall. No idea of our formation. Looks like a 2 4 4. Essex is a talent, but not right winger, a 10. Mason Clarke only has a right foot..Time to change formation. We are getting totally overrun and teams know it. 5 at the back, certainly away from home. Frank has done brilliant, but we are fading very, very fast.

Feeling very ;low.
Fell asleep on the sofa when it was 0-1 (sorry its my age) woke up and it was 2=1 to them from what seemed like a schoolboy error from Kitching.
Might feel more optimistic in the morning. really hope so.

The cushion we had is gone, so we now need to put our big boy pants on and get back to picking up points. Still 2 games i this block of 5. Picked up 6 pts, win and a draw next 2 would be 10 pts from 15..

Next game is always the most important from now on. Players need to keep working, keep creating and hopefully the ball starts to bounce oue way. And refs give us some decisions

We’ve been playing shit for months. Two wins with mediocre performances papered over the cracks a bit. Haven’t won away in 2 months and have been abysmal in the last 3 away games.

9 games left, I think we can do 6-1-2. Would give us 77 points.

Away from home wouldn't be surprised if we only win 1 between now and end of season. Add in a few draws gives us around 83 points and probably third or fourth place.

Very unlikely we will win all 9 home games. I mean, it would be phenomenal if we did, but is very unlikely to happen.

Sometimes you can play really well and just be unlucky in finding that winning goal.

There will be games like the Norwich home game, where we just are unable to break them down. There may well be a dodgy backpass that denies us the 3 points. A sending off, a poor refereeing decision, a flukey miss hit shot that somehow goes in etc etc. .

These things happen.

Bottom line is, we need points from elsewhere too. We have to pick up some points away.

There's 17 games left. If we could somehow win 8 of those, that would put us on 82 points. We would probably then need 5 or 6 draws to get us real close to the finishing line. 6 draws and 8 wins and we would finish on 88 points..

We could then afford 3 more losses.

Could be very, very tight.

It's late in the day, but one or two astute signings could just get us over the line.

I am worried though. Too many players now out of form. The likes of Grimes, Rudoni and Torp and the back line is making several errors.

Such a missed opportunity last night and even just a draw would have been a real positive to come away with.

QPR has to be a must not lose. Has to be.

Who is the “we” in this scenario?

Fan’s saying everything is alright is ok isn’t it?
The management & team less so.

Same shit defence as last year no change in midfield to support and back to conceding 2 goals a game.

I said it on the Championship thread Norwich is a must win game - also said it in the match thread before we went behind - because of inevitable meltdown and i am correct

I mean, this says that both Middlesborough and Ipswich have lost the same amount of games, but converted a draw to a win over us….

Middlesborough have to go away to both us and Ipswich, we beat them, which i FULLY expect us to. The gap grows and that game vs ipswich is massive for them both.
Both Ipswich and Middlesboough also have to play Millwall & Watford who could be chasing them down for 2nd.

We’ve all got tough games coming, none of the 3 of us arent dropping more points between now and April.

We need to sort the performances out and the wins will come.

Home form (results wise) is beyond impeccable.
I don’t think we’ll win on the road for the rest of the season (not an unreasonable assumption)
Not sure that’s gonna get us auto’s.

We’re so easy to play against. Counter to the wings and run through the middle and they are in acres of space.

How muck longer than Sunderland have we gone before the dip?
I'm guessing here, will we get up mentally in the PO's?

What? You mean we’re only broadly as good as Boro, not as good as Ipswich and oslightly better than the 14 other half decent teams? And losing by one goal to Norwich should be in the realms of probability?

Reversion to mean.

Isn’t the reality that we only have 2 players who consistently play at a level that would be good enough for the low end of the Prem?

The rest are very good - good Championship players.

We had 2 months where we played well above our level

2 months where we played at our level and nicked results

Now 2 months where we have played below our level and not got results

Don’t think people should be surprised.

Fuck sake way too many binaries on here!

Usual negative Nellie’s raising their heads who are always way too quiet when we are winning.

It’s only our fourth loss of the season ffs.

No dramas-I’d rather be where we are now in the table than anywhere else.
