It's a shame really anyone who reads a tweet is not the sort to go out and buy the actual paper.

They will read the news on line.

So instead of using the tweet to entice.
Release the story.

What's the point in sending a tweet to say your going to say something tomorrow. Just say it tomorrow.

I'm gonna send a tweet saying I might have some toast in the morning, then send a tweet in the morning great news everyone I've had some toast.

I've read all the ay through to page 7 and there's nothing. Not a sausage. You sure you had toast?

If you're looking for sausage, no wonder you haven't found the toast.

It's called publicity...word gets around & generates more interest...whets the appetite for it. Like a new film has trailers...why not just show the film?

I have to say I have been very disappointed with our local journalists.

From the debacle with OSB and BSB and the Telegraph 'sensational exclusive'

They consistently seem to be weak in the face of SISU and possibly even favourable towards SISU until very very recently. When it finally dawned on them that the mood of their readers was actually bang on the money.

I don't know if they were scared of rocking the access they used to get to CCFC.

However there are so many unanswered questions about our club that the CET never seem to investigate.

Also even now, why are they not hammering Tim with the import questions. Trying to track down Joy asking the tough questions.

For balance why are they not
Getting a definitive answer from ACL.

Under what circumstances would they accept the club back.

Interview the Northampton Chairman and trust leader. Ensure he has a complete understanding of the situation.

Push Tim on his plans.

Get him to explain the figures.

Questions that stumped Tom at the forums should now be pursued.

no you don't, the fact that the government are going to announce something tomorrow is today's news thats fine, you are telling people about something that is probably going to happen, you don't say the government have announced their changes to the welfare system we will tell you about it tomorrow.

If you get information, hold onto it and advertise the fact you are going to release this information in this day and age you are a very poor news organisation that will frequently be late to the party. The only reason the cet are getting away with it here is that they arn't competing with anyone.

If he got the story working as a reporter under the CET banner - he cannot divulge the information in advance of the CET without upsetting his paymasters. There are people working for the treasury & reporters that that know them & get some of the finer & the major points in any budget. They don't go public (at least shouldn't) before the Chancellor reveals the budget.
We're not going to agree on this one though I suspect. Maybe Les could keep totally quiet? Then the stories related to our plight would matbe not get any prominence & general coverage at all...it does seem quite low on the national media priorities already.

Keeping quiet till you have something to say is a good idea, I'm not sure why you feel it necessary to have taken that to the level of staying totally quiet and our plight getting less publicity. That said if an article is going to be misleading like his recent one about sisu writing off tens of millions in debt then yeah I'd prefer the article didn't exist at all. Generally though I have no problem with Les and have appreciated his work, he's done a better job than any of the other paid journalists. I only commented since I disagreed with you comparing someone being a tease with advertising a film, I'd normally just roll my eyes at someone who said I know something you don't know, tomorrow I'll tell you.

What I'm suggesting is that by saying in a roundabout way on twitter..."there's going to be news in the CET tomorrow" he's basically raising the profile of the story to all his followers rather than just CET readers, & promoting the CET brand for his payers. I can't knock him for that.

So basically all he is interested in is raising his profile and not really giving a shit about giving fans false hope. Not saying he give me false hope as i know there all full of shit anyway.

Where i come from you say something to say you say it or shut the fuck up. End of.
