Les Reid is at it again on twitter ......... this time it is with Supporter's Direct!

Blowing his own trumpet and getting a bit personal again, and made a reference to people on here I'm glad we are noticed!

Les Reid ‏@Lesreidpolitics

Not really bothered by Reid really - take him (and his views) with a pinch of salt. I have to say though that he does seem a bit self obsessed. Easy way to lose crediability in his profession I would have thought.

I have no problem that someone that has lost all credibility to many is potentially calling some of us "angry obsessives"

What was the context or did he just start spouting abuse again?

I'm getting a bit worried about his mental health.

Les Reid's twitter is a lesson in how to blow your career. It is childishly aggressive and self important. He has a handful of crackpot active followers who he presents as the 1000s of 'credible' fans.
SBT is far more representative of fans, as can be seen by the attendances at every 'home' game.

I think its quite funny.

I never really liked his style even before all this kicked off anyway.

His articles always (whatever the subject) seemed to have an agenda.

Les Reid ‏@Lesreidpolitics
@SuppDirect Ha. I know. Simply put, 1000s are not convinced Not One Penny More & council Ricoh ownership offers best prospects for #CCFC

Supporters Direct ‏@SuppDirect
Sorry .@Lesreidpolitics but that simply doesn't stack up. Massive opposition to SISU. No figures for your statement that I've seen #pusb

Les Reid ‏@Lesreidpolitics
@SuppDirect We agree on Sisu unpopularity. Sorry, my name's Les. U are? #CCFC fans divided. 1000s want #CCFC back at Ricoh whoever owns what

Supporters Direct ‏@SuppDirect
@Lesreidpolitics You're a political journalist and #skyblues fan yet seem slightly naive about the intentions of SISU.

Les Reid ‏@Lesreidpolitics
@SuppDirect Sorry, u'r Kev who? Said in my column last year Sisu's intentions were to buy Ricoh cheap.Under no illusions & I've exposed much

It all started because Les said he was happy the sky blues trust were aiming things more at both sides now, and Supporters Direct replied saying he thought it was right for the pressure to be applied more on to SISU. Sort of exploded from there. More tweets going on than what I have put above but that was a general list. Les retweeting the usual suspects who agree with his view.

He really can't take anyone disagreeing with his great award winning grillingness.
Whatever anyone thinks you can't deny this is bar far the biggest Cov fans forum, and a large majority here have the open and honest opinion that Sisu as the owner must bear the primary blame for the shambles the club is in.

Wow. Just wow.

Has anyone asked him what his proof for "1000s of fans" is? Didn't only 800 sign his petition?

Think this is because he has been quite critical of the anonymous nature of forums. He thinks we should all have our real names and addresses next to our comments.

Anonymous to Mr Reid = obsessive crackpot.

Nah it's anyone that doesn't agree with him.
But this hissy fit thing he has it pure embarrassment, and you'd think he would have got past the student politics thing by now.

So if he has so much of a hate for anonymous accounts then he will have signed up on here as Les Reid wouldn't he?

Agree. But you could turn that on it's head and say if people felt that strongly about it then they would make the effort to vote.

It's like the CT "keep cov in cov" poll. 15K signed it. Great, we all thought. That's still half the amount of people who turned up to the Crewe game. Apathy is as big a threat as SISU.

No over a thousand signed his petition.

If you read through the optional comments section you will start to doubt the identity of some of the people that have signed it. You will also see the obsession of a few of them about the actions of the Council. The site used for the petition can't filter out multiple and false identities. Which is of course a problem that the internet has in general.

He will struggle to provide proof of his claim. Then again when you can write a story to support your own view you can claim you are right as it was in the paper.

You'll get no argument from me there. All the more reason we keep the club in as convenient position as possible.

Just wondering where his figures are from.

I think you'll also find that various Tim Fishers and Joy Seppalas signed the "keep cov in cov" poll too. Along with quite a few fans of other teams who were showing "solidarity". Makes the final 15K figure even more disappointing.

Yeah, I t's pretty likely he comes on here.. He couldn't resist it could he...
He did actually post once as himself on CT forum, later when the vast majority disagreed with his view he dismissed many of that forums posters on twitter as well!

He believes he is right, why would he waste his time talking to people that he believes are wrong. He sees anonymous people as more likely not to stand by their comments, so more likely to make abusive and libellous statements.

He is in danger of forgetting that the press needs to be challenged to keep them on track. He is writing on a highly subjective story, people are going to disagree, but he ignores and belittles anyone who sees the truth in a different way to him. He is close to abusing his power as a journalist.

Journalism needs freedom but it also needs public accountability, saying that any group can't challenge the opinion of the press is a dangerous road to go down.

But that's exactly what you are doing. You don't believe he is right so you have no time for him or his comments.

Which is why I believe the use of such evidence needs careful consideration before being used as support for a view.

The only protest so far that has meant anything was the march. Everything else is so fractured and disjointed it shows a lack of leadership more than a clear message on what is happening and what should happen with CCFC.
