With all the old legends threads being started, pining over players of the past and wishing they were here now, I was thinking it's incredibly disrespectful towards Leon.

We have a player at the minute that perhaps in 2,3,10 years time we wish we had again.

He has a brilliant goal return, one that I haven't known in my lifetime since Dublin and Hucks etc

Let's enjoy him as football fans while he's here

Better all round player than mcgoldrick, 2 footed and brings more players into the game.

Nobody is being disrespectful. You don't know what you've got till it's gone. Whilst Clarke is here we will continue to appreciate his goal return and his efforts on the pitch. It's years later we'll be talking about him as being one of our top strikers

I think Leon leads the line and his hold up play is better than DMG, but as I remember the idea was to bring Leon in to play along side DMG. Now that I would have loved to have seen......

Anyway, let's enjoy it as long as we can.....

Long, long time since we've had a 20+ goal a season striker....

Dunno but he's too good and his record is too good for him not to be snapped up by a championship side

It was definitely by the end of August wasn't it? Doesn't he play for Sheffield Utd now?

my point is, if he has a year or 18 months, we could at least get a decent fee.

now that being reinvested in the squad is a different thing, but you get my point

No disrespect for Leon is meant, but we are in Division 3. The only player even worth being considered as a legend didn't do it for long enough with us since we got relegated out of the Prem is Wise. Now if Leon helps us to get promoted then does the same in the Championship he will be looked at in a different way. You can only beat who is put in front of you. But can you imagine what someone like Dion would have done at our present level?

Leon is doing great for us. I just hope we get a chance to see what he can do at a higher level.

Doubt it, yet another smart move though. First then Robins and then Pressley but I doubt many will acknowledge it? PUSB!

Sheff United didn't have any money though did they. Tried to get him on loan. The new owner arrived a few days too late with his wallet.

fully agree about beating what's in front of you. but Leon isn't a prem/ top championship striker. He's probably a bottom champ/top league 1 striker, so I'm only saying he's a brilliant striker on that basis. If we get promoted tho, and he's top chamionship striker, then hats off to him

Fucking hell man, they tried enough times didn't they ? law of averages tells you that you will get it right sometime. Do you expect us all to be rolling one off over Sisu/Otium for doing a couple of decent things out of a history of disasters.

I am not alone on agreeing that SISUE made a good move by appointing Waggott. It is him that has chosen our managers and got together players for no money. That is about the only good move they have made for a few years though.

You realise what you are actually doing here is praising fisher as it was fisher who recruited him?

I don't have a problem with giving someone praise for getting something right. Just the same as I don't have a problem on having a go when someone fucks up all the time.

Much better than continually having a go for something that could have been done better whilst ignoring everything else that is going on

Correct and the top 8 in league 1 and bottom 8 of championship will be all looking and wondering. Maybe a few in the top 8 of the Championship.

That is football, let's hope he stays.

Waggott and fisher agreed to retain thorn. That one single action wrecked any hope of promotion. They should have been sacked for gross negligence on that decision alone.
