Play to his strengths and he will score goals

True.

BUT, we don't have a team to play his strengths - that's the problem! As I've said a fair few times, we're adapting the way we play for 1 player but suiting that 1 player doesn't suit the other 10!

The lad is trying his best, granted, but he is pisspoor at holding up the ball waiting to bring midfield into the game...not very good in the air...and runs around like a headless chicken, and I've seen milk turn quicker. A half decent CB has him in his pocket. Elliot would be better in that loan striker role if given the chance imo.

You can only comment on what you've seen and the games you have attended. I can honestly say he's not had one good game in the six matches I've seen him.

Playing to his strength would mean only giving him the ball in the 6 yard box which means we have no out ball and no way of bringing the midfield into attacks. Great plan.

We either need someone who can do the link play for him and play 442 or drop Leon and play someone who can do the whole job.

Does amuse me this.

He's too slow, he's too lazy, he can't hold the ball up, can't head the ball and has a poor first touch.

Must be nothing short of a miracle that the lad has 16 goals, is 2nd top scorer in the whole league and has 5 goals in 11 appearances for us at a ratio of just over 1 in every 2 games.

Do I deduce that if he was a good player people think he would have scored eleventy billion this season?

The thing that I am surprised by is someone saying they have not seen him have a good game!!

What is a good game?

And also accusing me of not having seen him.

You are right a good striker would have scored 20 in those 11 games!! Mcg scored 1 in 5 for Ipswich, although Cody has 3 in 3.

It always used to make me laugh that people used to say we would have lost games if oggy hadnt played so well!!

Well yes if your keeper plays badly you tend to lose.

Clarke was not the reason we lost against Crewe and Yeovil! In my opinion he had average games but no worse

We lost the last 2 games because of defensive frailties.

Letting in the silly goals we did then made us go too gung ho in search of an equaliser or goal back. then we started snatching at shots and getting anxious.

Here's a radical idea, how about supporting and encouraging the players who play for the team we are supposed to love and stop slagging them off via social media and booing them if they have a shit game, they are trying for the first time in many seasons I believe it hurts them when we lose and not just us!!

Maybe it's just me then............:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

I think we'll all know a bit more by mid March in truth, its still early days. The lads goal ratio is good but our results and blank outs at home to Shrewsbury, Crewe and Yeovil and away at Carlisle and the scraped wins over Tranmere and Oldham were hardly the classy performances we were putting on against Donny, Stevenage, MK Dons, Walsall etc.................we have gone backward and some of us suspect why? Its all about opinions but time will tell !

Have we gone backwards though?

Sheff Utd away? And we did totally dominate on Tuesday and then for the most part on Saturday and the 3 games, Shrewsbury, Crewe and Yeovil we had more shots at goal than we could ever hope for.

But for a lick of paint we could have scored on Tuesday from Baker's shot and and on Saturday from Elliot's chip. Very fine margins between success and failure.

Otis like you I've been playing and watching football for years and yes we have gone backwards, lets be frank and honest, many of these so called stat chances have been panicked and forced shots against defenders legs at close range. Our shape has gone because we haven't got a settled 4-5-1 and the one isn't playing his colleagues in, he's waiting for killer balls to land at his feet. This has disrupted our whole flow in truth, we could have played for another hour against Yeovil and Crewe and we would have blanked because the quality and confidence is faltering. Sheff Utd was a great result but we caught them at a perfect time as they were in crisis and suffering from the sale of their best player too. It hasn't helped though either that in the last two games arguably our 3 most skillfull players in Moussa, Adams and Baker have all had poorer games and our defence has stood and watched on a couple of occasions...............but yes we have dipped in performance. As I said time will tell now !!

Lets get of his back, we should be geting behind him and all the other players. two games that we have dominated but not scored its just bad luck. It will change and Leon will hit the back of the net and put us back on course. KTF. and SUPPORT YOUR TEAM. PUSB:claping hands::claping hands::claping hands::claping hands::claping hands:

He is NO Mcgoldrick..He doesnt have that ability to turn ...I think he will score a good few poachers goals...but as a season changer..him alone will not be enough...thought Baker gave it his all Sat against Yeovil..some of our corners were a real waste...but with 10 mins to go on Sat I really didnt think we would get the draw..it was all too predictable from Cov & Yeovil played for time and the Ref bought every little foul they played for!!

Shocking Ref Saturday...but we wern't much better.

Yes he will. He's scored as many league goals this season as Clarke. Sadly it's taken him 15 games to get there.

Elliot should have had a hattrick on tuesday but for their goal keeper being on the form of his life!

I think once he gets one, he'll get a load!

Clarke is absolutely lethal when its on a plate right in front of goal, nothing against him personally but he is not good enough its there for all to see.

As i have said before if Robins does not get one or 2 decent strikers in we wont get promoted, i cant see us finishing above 8th. Its as simple as that, you can say we dont have the funds blah blah blah but players are out there waiting to be found.

Its been a problem since Goldie left we just cannot find the right formation to play. 4-5-1 was perfect with goldie here but clarke or elliot cannot fit the bill, they also cannot play together as neither has pace.

The chances we have had and not put away is unreal.

Elliott's best game was in a 4-5-1...
