It appears that Clarke is set to leave Wolves and return to Scunthorpe one of the million clubs he's played for. So he's on his bike again there's something not right with him is there ?

Depends how you look at it.
If he had stayed would we have got promoted?
Did Wolves buy him to stop us dead in our tracks?

Personally I don't think we would have been promoted with him anyway. We wouldn't have had such a struggle towards the end but not promotion

Clarke in a way is like a great looking woman, your attracted by the looks etc and everything's fine for a while, but then you find out she's had loads of blokes and gets restless. So you're better off with a plain looking bird who's steady and reliable !

I'm embarrassed to confess quite how much that would have been really useful to have known a few years ago...

I know it doesn't sound great but I'm kind of glad he's heading that way (if true). He was great for us with Wilson. Could've been a bigger hero for us but he decided to chase the bigger bucks despite SP working well with him and getting the best out of him.

Now he's heading back to Scunthorpe (no offence to them). Tough sh*t Clarke.

Thanks for the memories.

Clarke is a strange one. Elvis got him in the best scoring phase of an in and out career. He could have been an absolute hero here in very tough times, a shining light in our dark times. But he throws it up.
But then we know that the lure of the cash, playing in front of decent crowds etc - if we had been at the Ricoh I'd slate him, but Sixfields must be murder for any footballer with dreams.

He play's the business better than most, still young enough to get a few more signing on fee's promotion bonuses and decent wages where ever he goes..Clarke who know's his level, play's well enough to be wanted above that level and plays the transfer system well. He will leave the game with a lot of clubs, lots of goals and a very good standard of living to look forward too, not bad for a L1 player....

Why are we still talking about this guy... seriously get a grip who gives a shit what he does or where he goes, he was made to look better than he was with the chances the team created around him.

...made to look better than he was?

He's a goalscorer and that's exactly what he did for us. Very successfully in fact.

I think he's a very good player at this level but I think he's also a player who needs loving.

He was never going to get enough love in front of 1500 at sixfields but in front of 15,000 at the Ricoh?

We'll never know.

Yes size of crowd and ground quality are clearly first on his list.

That's why he had swapped Molyneux for the paradise of Scunthorpe.

Would have him back at CCFC. I don't think Pressley is the type to go back though...
