Despite Stuart Linnel's nonsense talk about gamesmanship what did people think of his performance.

Looked really impressive to me. On loan from Charlton and will score lots of goals in League One.

Funny how people have said other clubs would want our players.

Do you think Scunny would swap Leon Clark for McDonald?

I would I suspect they wouldn't!

He did look a handful.

Also, who was their number 11? He looked a talented winger. A winger who stays put wide AND runs at the full back too

I agree.. thought he looked more than a useful 1st(3rd) division player.. played Wood and Edge really well.. always a threat- liked their number 11 also.

Well I would swap him for Fleck despite Fleck's "quality"

I ought Clarke played really well, and both Duffy (16) and number 11 were handfuls

Was too strong for our defenders. As I said in my thread about the target man.

Too much time smiling at the refs while down 'injured', but looked a quality player.

But you then mentioned Clive Platt. He was no target man.

borrowing someone else's player who can be taken back. Ie DMC or have cody and play him as an out and out striker week in week out as their own player in their own control. Who knows what they would say.....

If you offered them McDonald they would laugh in your face, he is rubbish.

He was a target man in the sense of holding the ball up and playing it off wisely. But nit in the John hartson sense of getting a goal aswell.

However I felt he was one if the few things AB got right.

Remember him over the years he is hot and cold but when he's hot he's un-playable but then again I don't rate Richard Wood much more than pub Sunday league standard and this being honest

I want to like woody but I truely think he lacks Strength,Keogh did to a degree but compensated in other ways.

Wood is woeful and anyone that rates him had never seen a decent centre half he's too slow looks over weight sluggish and always has a mistake in him plus he's on decent money here 8k I believe which is madness at this level if he was one if the best defenders in the league ok but he's not hence why we couldn't offload him.Notjing personal he's a
Warrior and puts it on the line but technically he's just not good enough I think he would struggle in league 2 tbh Malaga looked a lot better in there.

He is a third division striker who knows how to play a ref.
Was never a pen. After that. Our centre halves were scared after that.
Thought baker and Christie were good
Jennings = poor mans Doyle
Clarke, if only he'd play like the last 10 minutes always

Cyril it was a stone wall pen, I've seen it on sky sports news. He was stronger and quicker than wood got his body inbetween wood and the ball wood slipped and rugby tackled him on the way down. People in the telegraph stand have said Clarke handled the ball, but looking at the replay if he did it would have been on the blindside of both the ref and the linesman.

Yep, keogh had the pace to recover from most situations, I think it's easy to see now why keogh and Cranie were the preferred CB partnership

Stu. Fair comment but I was in line with it. He handled it(maybe the ref didn't see). He handled it

That's a good point. I remember the frustration thinking. It's simple Keogh at rb, wood or mcpake (if ever fit) alongside cranie at cb. Why does AT not see it!

Why didn't AT see that McPake was a more capable defender that the complete dross he replaced him with?

Also Deegan looks energetic and cultured compared to Jennings.

I take it mcpake and Deegan left for completely footballing reasons.

Remind me again who was the shite scout who identified them?

Leon Clark played exceptionally well, he was virtually unplayable today certainly Wood and Edge couldn't get near him.
Many on here were "waxing lyrical" about our defensive partnership after the Crawley game, but today they looked like they had just been introduced to a football.

On a different point, the formation just didn't work, 442 is just to predicable for me, bring back the diamond !
