Told he wont be playing for Ipswich again. Not a rumour in any way, but might be alright with Beavon.

I don't think our wage policy would fit with his expectations. Can't see it happening

For me Best was never as good as he thought he was. Didn't win as much in the air as he should have.

Absolutely not. We need a lanky streak of piss who can head crosses and win the ball in the air. All our strikers are 5' 0" .

A striker that doesn't know the offside rule.

Was overrated with us and has been really shit for about the last five years!

Always rated Best like I rated Bothroyd and John. I have a thing for lazy strikers.

Never really rated him just think he's one of those lucky players who have made a great living and good luck to him but little ability, would like to know how many goals he's scored in his career not many

He wasn't lazy. He was excellent on his day, schooled Pique at Old Trafford and Samba at Blackburn twice.

I'd rather have Mcgoldrick back, (a)If he's still got the legs And (b)If Mick don't need him.

I hear Cardiff don't want Rickie Lambert anymore , would be a free if we could afford wages, great header of the ball and good hold up player and scores goals.

Leon Best would be better than any striker we currently have, but then again that's not saying much.
He's probably a 10-goal a season striker, which would make him our leading scorer.
He does seem to be very injury prone.

Best has scored 20 goals in 7 years. He will fit the profile well. McCarthy has hardly given him a character reference either.

He'd be decent for the amount of crosses we try to put in.

Thank god - the vacant former player thread. I was fretting, we haven't had one for six days.

I said we should have signed him when he played for Bristol Rovers , but didn't want to pay £1million for him
But what do I know !!!
He will have to take a massive pay cut if he signed for us now !!!
So he'll probably sign for some one like Swindon LOL. :wacky:
