Feel it's a game we must win though will really show the rest of the league we are on business this season!!

Quick question.... what's our longest unbeaten run? Just curious.
I'm sure 10 games rings a bell, but I'm probably miles off!

I absolutely love watching Grimes play.which is unusual as it's usually attacking players that get the juices flowing but he's just a joy to watch.

I was saying the same to a mate yesterday. Rudoni obviously stands out as an attacker but I get as much joy from watching grimes play.

Top scorers in the league with two 0-0s in 6 games. Won less games than QPR who we stuck 7 past. Weird start.

1972 was mine. If you were around at the time I'm surprised you forgot the run to win the Dvision 2 title in 1967!

I thought everyone put in a good shift but lacked that bit of quality.

DaSilva did ok considering he was up against (probably) the best player in the league. We won't often face that quality. BTA did well on the cover but wasn't able to have much of an impact going forward.

EMC was a massive miss. Considering how good he's been, could have been the missing piece.

Impressed with Wrights work rate too.

In the end a good point away from home.

It’s the Oxford and Norwich draws beforehand that have dampened a good result yesterday. Win it least one of those and those few grumbles wouldn’t be happening.

Come May I think a point away at the KP will look good.

Is it just me but do we ever go and win away at a ‘big team’ ?

We never surprise me and go and win at a top team. Growing up was the same, away from home I mean. Leeds away when Huckerby got hat trick sticks out.. but we never do it.

We won several at Anfield in the late mid-late 90s. I can think of at least three.

Oxford just got a very good result away from home at Bristol City today. They did well last week too and against us. I don't think it is as bad a result as it's been made out.
Norwich was just one of those games, another day we win that 3-0.
Hull I agree was the issue result but first game and they had a good result recently too

Disputing this specifically:

"Growing up was the same, away from home I mean."

In the era you referenced, we won away at the big clubs about as often as you'd expect us to have done. Far less often that we lost, obviously, but it wasn't unknown.

Was thinking this too. Not only that..but you can argue (stats) back it up.

Oxford were better than us in 2nd half.
We're better for 90 mins vs Leicester and better for 90 plus mins at Bristol.

I have been very impressed with them. They could have battered Bristol today.

I think the Oxford game the main disappointment was that the game should have been done and dusted by half-time.

JDS has been really good all season. We are unbeaten and his forward play has been exceptional. Can't think of an instance where he has been at fault this season for us conceding. It showed how good he was when he came on away at Millwall and we were immediately a threat down our left.
He had a predictably poor game against the best winger in the division. Any of our players would have been run ragged from the start. JDS did a brilliant block to save a goal and set up Haji for our best chance of the match. Bidders did really well but the Leicester winger was tiring by then.

Oh we should have been you are right but we even had chances to snatch it at the end too. Think they are much better than are given credit for and they have shown that the last three weeks.

We drew at Leeds, Hasslebaink also got a hat trick. But we did win at Anfield around that time with another Huckerby hat trick. All from memory, so probably all wrong.

It was Ndlovu who scored the Hatrick at Anfield.

I was there. There's been too many good "runs" in our history to remember them all!
Plus the fact, I'm now nearly 73. My memory is slipping slightly!

Big (huge) club no doubt but they had some poor teams as the '90's wore on even with the individuals like Fowler and Owen.

Won at Fulham the other year and they were a stronger team than anything in the Championship since imo

The Leeds game you mentioned was a draw, it was the season before that we won there.

We won there in either league or cup in four consecutive seasons mid to late 90s, in those seasons they'd finished 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd.

We used to win at Anfield quite regularly for a small period after we did it for the first ever time in 89/90 (Cyrille header). 94/95 (Nuddy hattrick), 96/97, and then 97/98 in the FAC.

As opposed to 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st etc as would have been the norm a few seasons earlier - just highlighting Liverpool not being at their most potent rather than running us down.
Arsenal away is my personal gripe - seen us draw there a few times but never seen us win. (Missed both of those victories early '90's)

Away at the Mouldydew v premier league Wolves FA Cup quarter final March 2024.

To beat ‘big teams’ away you need to be in the premier league or draw them in cup competitions. We‘ve been out of the prem for almost a quarter of a century, a whole generation of our fans have missed out.

Couldn't go to the Lester game but watch it. That young lad for Lester, Monga, is the next big thing, but he started off with us and went to Lester when he was 8 or 9. The commentator said on many occasions he lives just around the corner from the training ground, does he live in Ryton? Meant to be worth 50 million already. How did we miss him?
