The problem Leicester have with Monga is that he hasn't actually signed a pro deal with them yet and part of the reason he was fast tracked into their first team was to avoid losing him to someone like Man City. That was insight given to me by some Leicester STH.
Funnily enough, the guy seems to know George Shepard's dad or something because he told me a) Man U were interested and b) he'd sign a pro contract at Cov before both pieces of news broke. Frankly, I took it with a pinch of salt.
And they wouldn’t be doing it if they had the cash to pay. So I suspect they are heavily reliant on January player sales to afford Dec salary payments (paid late) and to get through the remainder of the season.
It's a coincidence I think, without prying into the details... It sounds like playground talk amongst parent(s) which is why I took it with a pinch of salt.

Is that not just a gentleman's agreement? You can't sign a pro contract until you turn 17 so he probably could go to someone else on the cheap.
I'm aware. Monga has a conditional deal that has already been agreed and signed which means once his youth contract expires on his 17th birthday, it will automatically convert into a pro contract.
So the only way they're losing him is if they're significantly compensated.

No excuse for not paying nonplaying staff. One player's wages would most likely cover the lot. Be much better paying all of them and then paying the players 90% with them deferring 10% to receive something like after a player sale in Jan or after season ticket sales. Really odd way to operate and knowing the news it would cause too.
In fact if i was one of the players, who are most likely all millionaires, I'd have them clubbing together to make sure the staff got paid. At a time when the fans are against them it would show an 'all in it together' mentality and help unite them.
