I never knew Curtis became Managing Director for a bit. Every day's a school day!

I think I read somewhere that he is not that well.

That rings a bell which is why I googled. I am sure one of his family members said something about one of our Wembley trips and he would have loved to go but I might be imagining it.

And then got kicked out of the club .

And you still act as if you are still at school.

This is a legends day thread, you have tried to give it loads again and start going on about bullying after I made an honest comment about somebody. Leave it out on this thread will you?

Am I missing something? What silly comment, that I am too young to remember him being the managing director?

Again, you realise I was replying to something you said. Do you have some sort of issues?

Yes, I knew after I googled it to try and find what I read about his illness so posted it in the thread and it was very much on topic.

What exactly is your point?

Like you said not on the Legends thread.

I have no issues, just cut out the silly remarks.

Are you trying to be ironic or do you actually have issues?

I don't understand what you are going on about.

Read the thread back.

I will clean the thread up in the morning once you have it all out of your system.

It was on the Foemer Players website. Jim Brown is usually right.

Might have been different with directorships etc back then.

Yes, just cheated and checked his history and it says he carried the MD title until 1983 what title he held until is all too brief flirtation with team manager and after doesn’t say.

I met him in one of the main stand lounges/hospitality suites on a legends day - I think it must have been the 40th anniversary of promotion to Div 1 - I took the Wolves promotion 'clincher' programme along and got his and about six or seven other autographs in it, including Ernie Hunt's on the Wolves team line up.
He was more than happy to have a chat and get others to sign it. I delivered his mail for a few months in the mid nineties when I was a temp postie, again on occasion when he happened to be out the front of his house he would have a chat. (Usually on the second delivery!) A genuinely smashing bloke as well as a genuine legend.

My Dad regularly played squash against him around the late 70's/ early 80's & said he was a top bloke, albeit very competitive. My impression is that he's a fairly modest guy, who doesn't crave attention, and is fairly embarrassed when a big fuss is made of him. I really don't believe he has stayed away because of any lingering bad feeling about his departure from the club.

I admit I’m a bit biased when any George Curtis topic comes up, I started going supporting city 1962 and Curtis was the team captain then. When Jimmy Hill became manager later that year he and we were lucky to have such a strong character as Curtis who was just right for Hill at that time.
And let’s not forget he was a bloody good player too.

There was talk of a fall out with previous chairman Bryan Richardson which apparently stemmed from Richardson taking any photos down depicting our cup final triumph, not sure how true that is.
