Bit of an overreaction IMO to start throwing around things like we are finished. Was there actually anyone who thought SISU would win this? And was there anyone who though once they lost they wouldn't try taking it to Europe?

Has it been suggested they will try escalating to the ECJ? They weren't allowed to do so for JR1....

This decision could either be perfectly timed, or timed terribly.

Perfect - as has been mentioned this may give leverage for talks to commence with Wasps about the Ricoh. We would need all involved to be willing to negotiate however rather than just list demands.

Terrible - SISU decide to continue to escalate court proceedings and keep Wasps as an ‘interested party’.

Could they do anything different? Could they continue with Court action against the council but exclude Wasps from the process then wasps wouldn’t have the ‘legals’ as a defence for not talking?

Unfortunately I can’t see it having a happy ending, certainly not before the EGM anyway

If they can't I'm sure they'll find another way to keep things going.

Surely now the EFL should have a word with Joy and say you have taken this to the highest court and been told no .Could you please for the sake of the game give up the legals and enter talks.Think it would be nice for Wasps to say this is the deal you could have if you did drop them.I have said i won't travel and think fewer fans will travel to another ground following todays news making the finances worse. Then again Joy is our Maggie. On a side note Nick please let people have their say disagree maybe but if their posting on here they have an interest in the club and should be heard without snide remarks whenever they post.

But there might be a long wait before that happens i.e. to get a new civil claim prepared. In the meantime there would be no legal stuff ongoing which could hinder Boddy and Eastwood from doing a deal.

You had best get the charity bet paid about you going to more than my 9 year old then if it's only half.

£20 to Zoe's place will do.

I assume you missed the other post on the Butts thread at 11.37am?

The EFL have effectively passed the decisions on if CCFC can play and where to their members.

That was 2 hours before the appeal court announcement though wasn’t it, the goalposts have shifted a bit now surely.

Please Lord, let this be the end of the legals.

I'm perhaps one of the few people here who doesn't mind seeing the Council dragged into court, I think they've got a lot to answer for, but trying to escalate this up to the European courts whilst things are as they are, is madness.

In truth I'm not completely clear that there's a direct path to appeal to the European courts in any case. Everything that I've read suggests that the UK court would refer the matter directly if there was a question of EU law that wasn't clear - that doesn't seem to be the case here. I think if SISU are determined to keep going with the legal action, they'll need to start an entirely new claim. On what basis could they do that, I wonder?

Im pretty sure it can't go to the ECJ for the same reason cited in your post. What SISU could conjure up to fuel another round of court action im not sure, I wouldn't be surprised to see them find something though.

It was OP on the thread BUTTS. Which reported what was apparently in theTimes, haven’t read it personally myself, don’t read Murdoch gutter press, but quoted what was said. Which was St. Andrews was disqualified due to being too far away.

Fake news I think, that's not what the Times article says, and I can see no evidence that St Andrews has been ruled out. More's the pity, because playing there isn't acceptable, and there would be no end to it in sight.

Ha I've been circuit training this evening and out at work. Do you want me to post my Fitbit screenshot?

Not really absent, the same as the past week or so where I haven't been on as much

Just a side note, next time you are posting when matches are on can you share your home broadband with the rest of us at the ricoh? Most be decent WiFi.

Just the 42 posts today now. Pathetic. Not many proper ones in this thread though.

Saving myself for the match thread on Friday, I won't pretend to be there though as I forgot there were games on when I volunteered to cover at work.

Was that in a later article or something? The short piece in this morning's paper only says "The Times has learnt that the 4,000-capacity Butts Park Arena in the city has emerged as a second ground-share option for Coventry along with Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s".

I most definiely do NOT want us to play in Birmingham, but as far as I can see it hasn't been ruled out.
