Hi all. I drive rigid trucks for work, back in December I rear ended someone on M6. No deaths, no major injuries. Today I’ve received an out of the blue court postal requisition. ‘Driving without due care and attention’.

Despite at the scene explaining to the copper the sort of exceptional reason behind it - and him apparently seeing how it could have happened, I’m now being charged!

No idea what to do. Company saying they’ll provide me representation and all that.

Anybody on here know what to expect or any advice?

United Road Transport Union: URTU

May be worth contacting this union, £15 per month but get full legal representation for such incidents.

Led myself down a rabbit hole, would’ve been miraculous to avoid it in the end. Life goes on.
