Next thing we will have is escorted pleasure boats for all the immigrants who want to come to the UK and do sweet FA but sit on their arse, whilst us workers pay for them to do it.
It’s happened under ever labour government in my life and I’m in my 60’s, they love the couch sitters, whilst they hate anyone who wants to succeed in life.

Here we go, NW defending them already.
Absolute sham of a government, old Sir KS must be shitting himself, Angela Raynor must be thinking about selling her ex council homes, and the most racist Foreign Secretary ever must be thinking what race he needs to blame this on. No doubt he will make sure it’s not them to blame
How’s this labour government doing so far, of course they will blame everything on the last government for 4 years minimum, we all knew this, when do they become accountable.
I’m ready for more laughing emojis from the political illiterate
Scheme can’t wait for your response and Tony/ Pete to excuse these thugs in Leeds

Never voted for a national party , total waste of time, they will say anything to get your vote

The question was: What country has done multiculturalism right?

The answer was several paragraphs of excuses and blame on one country (ours) for not integrating and supporting people, without actually giving any examples of where it is successful. That more or less is an answer in itself. I still haven't met anyone who thinks net zero migration is the right approach, but to argue that people don't move here from third world societies and bring the shit elements of their cultures with them is ridiculous. We've literally seen live evidence of that from last night, and the crime rates, particularly sexual crimes against women are at astonishing levels at the moment. Many places in the UK are also unrecognisable, but when you bring that up we hit the same buffers in the debate every time.

The consequences are that parties like Reform start winning more votes unfortunately.

I will ask which country has done monoculturalism right?

Any country that doesn't want to let foreigners and other culturess in ends up one of two ways. They either get paranoid of every other nation and think they're ganging up on them (North Korea) or they think they're the greatest race on the planet and everyone should bow down to them and be their slaves (Nazi's). Either way what happens is wars.

Even if you look at this thread which has huge amounts of disagreements and arguments yet I imagine most were brought up in the same 'culture'.

There are heaps of countries worldwide where the mother culture is upheld throughout and they thrive. Literally all the most successful countries in the world come under this bracket.

The argument between no immigrants on one side and open borders the other is getting beyond stupid. No one is saying it has to be either of those things, it is just been pointed out by proxy that nowhere completely multicultural is successful, literally when asked not one country was prvoided. That doesn't mean a healthy amount of immigration is off the cards and doesn't work. It's about being sensible, which is something a lot of western countries haven't been doing.

Just listening to Sanjeev Bhaskar multi culturalism with the 1955-2000’s has been a huge success. I think the biggest issue is negativity and as a society not trying anywhere near hard enough

The issue is not so much culture as religion.

Religion is by definition a belief system of specific doctrines which influence behaviours

Discarding dictatorships where the leaders are god many countries who have low belief in a faith are generally happier societies.

The tarring of people with the same brush doesn’t help though. There seems to be a narrative on here that all Muslims are strictly religious, which in reality really isn’t the case and shows those with those beliefs like to spout about others integrating into society when they don’t actually do it themselves.

Both you and Grendel are right.

I do know a number of Muslims, who are not really that religious at all. Or most certainly don't go to a mosque often, or pray much at all.

Just come back from Norway. Are they religious? I really don't know. Just know they seemed happier people and apparently are deemed to be one of the fairest and most equal societies

Somebody once said that if you let enough of the 3rd world in you will become 3rd world. Sadly these sorts of flare ups are what we can expect now that the numbers are ridiculous. Labour won’t have an answer but then nor did the Tories. Migration should have been limited from 25 years ago.

Britain has been a hotbed of rioting for fucking centuries.
I'm not defending these rioters because as far as I'm concerned if you riot to prevent the authorities trying to rescue vulnerable children then you deserve everything that's coming your way, prison, deportation, whatever, you deserve it

But let's not pretend rioting is a new thing, we've did it for years.

How many of the people rioting do you think are contributing to corporate Britain? It's a silly excuse for uncontrolled mass migration.

As a British Asian if I'm being honest it does seem like the country is fucked. I don't feel like immigrants integrate like my parents did in 70s and that for me is by far the biggest issue.

I can't speak for your parents experience, but ethnic tension in the 70s,was rife.
One of my close freinds growing up was 2nd generation Indian so I saw first hand what it was like for him. Got called a paki lover quite often for hanging round with him.
There were constant NF/nazi marches and attacks and counter marches and attacks by the ANL on top of your everyday just for the sake of it violence!

Not aimed at you but it seems to me there seems to be a constant attempt to airbrush the 70s as some golden decade when it was the grimest times I've ever experienced.

I get you but that's not what I said though. I said immigrants not integrating like mine did.

My family got racist abuse from some too. It didn't stop them loving the country and integrating still however. And that's how they brought me and my siblings up. And how I will bring my son up etc

I think that's lost perhaps now. And it's worrying.

The difference was that your parents came to work and for better opportunities for their future generations. Many now see it as an easy option to freeloading.

In fact you probably have retained some of your parents work ethic if you are second generation. I don't know if you have kids yet, but in my experience third generation British Asians are used to a nice lifestyle and are as lazy as their white British friends and relatives.

Tbf a lot of Polish and Czech people here now are if similar mindsetand make great employees.

It seems some others and usually men who travel without families are the biggest problem.
