Godden is my favourite player we have ever had and yet I stick up for Simms more than most. I don’t understand what Bear83 is accusing you of.

Surprised Thomas is getting stick, I thought bar Dovin and MVE he was our best performer last night. It does look odd in those stills of being behind, but that's not like he's failed to step up, with that gap it must be intentional. He showed a turn of pace too a couple of times to get back in and block last night which I'd not seen before. I agree his distribution can still improve somewhat but defensively him and Kitching look miles better than any other options.

He did fail to step up. That still was the first he was even in the picture he was so far behind. I know people like him cos we’re desperate for some hard man defender but he’s proper garbage when he’s not on it.

Just goes to show that some of these ratings on apps and websites can't be trusted as a true reflection.

No way on earth Torp gets higher than Rudi. BTA higher than Simms etc.

To me he was the only one trying to get on the ball and I like his strength. I'm struggling to see any way he was worse than Torp and Allen.

I think it can highlight how much our fans are blind to what certain players are doing in game

I do wonder how they are pulled sometimes. Maybe one of those things that's useful to track over a period if you a scouting far and wide but nothing can beat actually watching it.

Rudoni was attempting to make things happen further up the pitch with strikers not doing very much. Allen was just sat in the middle, again not doing very much.

Fair but I can't remember him doing anything well , he kept taking it down the line and getting himself trapped in then when he had the chance to cross it he kept passing it .

I somewhat agree but stats don't have player bias and fans only remember certain things in matches

I'm not saying he was great, but he showed for it and he tried, which must have been very frustrating. I thought Allen and Torp were hopeless, and I'm a big Torp guy.
Not sure how those scores give Bidwell a 7 either. Geezer was getting roasted.

It was his unwillingness to defend the wide channels that was sending me loopy. Given they were doubling up on the wings, you needed him to go and engage one to free up Van Ewijk to press the other. He just stayed tucked in.

Leeds really gave us the runaround in the first half, pulling everyone out of position. Most seemed to correct in the second half; Lati didn’t.
They can’t step out and defend the wide channels because they are too slow. They have to stay tucked in because they are aware they will be exposed and isolated, as soon as they step out wide.
Bidwell can’t get back if he is caught up field,so doesn’t even try.
And MVE busts a gut to get back, which looks good when he is successful, but makes him look a tawt when he fails.

Wingbacks should be able to be “caught” up the field. That’s literally their job. CMs or CBs should be covering them when they do.

They are not quick enough shmmeee. And half the time they don’t anticipate what is happening.

The CBs? I don’t disagree. None of them are at the right level for a top six side IMO.

Thomas was awful last night . He gets slack on here because he makes last ditch blocks and tackles . Problem is he makes them because he has been pulled out of position or hasn't reacted quick enough to a situation.

They're far too one dimensional and look great for things like short-range completion rates, but aren't really reflective of a real game of football, and you shouldn't base your starting 11 on them.

From watching the game I did feel like he was awful at the time. I was genuinely quite surprised when there was this echo going round that he played well second half. He held the ball up a couple of times but I saw him actively flap out of challenging defenders on a few occasions too. It was better than the first half no doubt, but the benchmark for that was extremely low.

I'm not sure if there are some people trying to over exaggerate his performances because they really want him to do well, or because they dislike the other strikers, but I was very surprised that some put him down as one of our best players. He got a full 90 minutes yesterday and I was surprised at that. For large parts of the game he was a problem for us and offered us very little rest bite against the waves of attacks that kept coming.

Dan James had a massive chance that was saved, yes. That was it other than the goals and at that point we were already 2-0 down and chasing the game. They were constantly a threat but we’d limited them to long range chances.

The sloppiness of the goals we conceded was really disappointing and made a difficult game almost insurmountable.

In a game where it is necessary for the front players to hold the ball up to get some relief from all the Leeds possession in the first half both of ours failed miserably. Simms was better in the second half . I think that EMC & Wright will add a hell of a lot more.

Im firmly in the played well camp. If it wasnt for him we would have no striker capable at all of holding a ball up. He almost scored bar a wonder save and led the line well against a very good defence. Im not sure what you mean by fallping out of challenges. Generally if he is closing down a defender they either pass it to the keeper or across to the other centre half. Very rarely do strikers gain much from aggressively closing down all game.

Simms is a menace when the ball is in front of him down the sides of the pitch. He got no service of that kind at all, just balls pinged at him in tight areas and with little support. An impossible job last night against a team that dominated us all over pitch.

I honestly think his horrendous first half is making his slightly improved second half appear a lot better than it was. The way some people are going on is as if he had a storming solo striker performance against a very good team. He did a couple of good things, but was generally a very easy player to play against for the Leeds defenders for the most part.

We’re talking about 1st half only. The original point I made was about giving ourselves a chance by not making two basic errors for the goals.

The shot map has them having 7 shots and aside from James’ miss, all were speculative efforts mostly. Piroe had a decent chance on 10 minutes.

The second half should’ve been rout barring the 2 solid chances we had.
