Sorry for invading your board lads.Hearing from a few reliable sources that we've offered £700k + Billy Paynter for Clingan. Just thought you might like to know. Dont know too much about Clingan but you seem to rate him highly. I feel your pain with your best players leaving, ours left yesterday. Well anyway good luck for the season

But you have to remember Dan he will go for £0 next summer when his contract runs out, doesn't exactly put the club in a good position to get a good deal

Clingans worth more than 700,000+

What is Billy Paynter like?

Clingan is a good passer at this level, just sits in front of the back four and moves the ball on. Doesn't really create much but starts most of our attacks from the back. Passes forward to the more attack minded midfielders who generally fuck up the move at this point.

Difficult one, I think he is pivital to our chances of staying up. So do we let him go now and get some money or keep him for 1 more season and get nothing. To be honest I think staying up is worth more than £750,000 so I'd let him go for free next year. (Can we have paynter anyway?)

700k is a good price for someone in the last year of his contract.

Not at the moment he's not. He'll go for free if we don't sell. Would rather a CM than a ST though.

If as rumoured the turner to cardiff deal has fallen through and he's going to brum so no Parkin coming it might make some sense - guess thats Gael and Connor in midfield for the season then

Fair enough, I'd rather lose him for nothing though and stay up

What sort of player is paynter?

To be honest lads Paynter has been absolutely awful for us. But its probably just a lack of confidence because he scored 4 goals against us for Swindon the year he scored 30 odd goals. He could be a decent target man but hasnt done it for us and is getting a lot of stick from us Leeds fans. Id say Leeds value him at about 300k meaning the deal is worth £1m. Not bad for a player in his last year considering Gradel went for only £2.5

I'll be the one to say it.
Send Turner to Birmingham instead for 1 million and a season loan of MK

This would be an awful deal, and agree rather have a centre mid traded than striker

'Erm!! I suggested this 2 days ago to Stuart Linnell and he thought that i was joking!!

I wasn't!!!

We never seem to be in the driving seat when it comes to losing our best players (mainly to effin Birmingham)!!

Yeah, if we're getting CMD we've gotta get a midfielder in seriously. Baker is just a mouthbreather.

He signed Summer 2009 so his contract runs out summer 2012 (end of this season) no need for the facepalm.

I would rather £1m straight cash deal. Not too sure of Billy Paynter.
