I'd say we are 50/50 at best to progress against Wednesday.
It's highly likely that FL will use the game to see/give some fringe players some time. Poor turnout, shit weather, post xmas blues. It's got the ingredients to be a right shower of shit, that game.

Sums it about up but I can see them fielding changes as well
Depending on pricing I may well knock it on the head, I’d struggle to pay anything north of £15 to watch us and Wednesday play our reserves against each other
Not sure how it could be done, but I've often thought of a overhaul of the draws in the 3rd round. Something like you cannot be drawn against a team in your division. I know that probably isnt fully workable but something along those lines.

Did you miss the bit about self perpetuating fan negativity?
Personally i feel your post reads like a number of tired cliches and typical of the meltdowns we always get unless we draw Real Madrid in round 3 of the English FA cup.
'Post Xmas blues', given all the issues in the world today that sounds like a first world problem and somewhat of a comforting self attached label that those who cant be bothered can ware.
'Poor turnout'....if people talk it down that is a much more likely outcome.
'Highly likely that FL will rotate'. Firstly we have a deep squad and secondly how would you know how FL might approach this game? Doug likes cup runs.
Not having a go at you personally but I find the apathy and negative predictions at times frustrating because with a glass half full this game could be
1. A chance to watch the City for circa 50% less than any other home game this season
2. It's a good opportunity to get out and about after many days of family festivities and if you don't have family, socialise with people doing something you enjoy.
3. It could well be Saturday at 3pm (for a change)
4. We have a real shot of progressing
5. Might not be the 'shower of shit' match your overarching attitude towards this fixture is telling you it's likely to be.
