NEWS: Darragh Leahy leaves the Sky Blues

He was hailed as one for the future as well. I wonder if he has lined up somewhere else?

I'd forgotten all about him, that's a shame really as he never really had much of a chance.

He was miles down the pecking order of both centre defence and left back so makes sense to free up his wage. (Can't see him being on much anyway)

That's a shame. He looked as if he could develop into quite a player when Mowbray gave him his chance. Highly doubt it would free up any wages unfortunately, he'd be on a few hundred at best. Good luck him.

Yeah, tis a shame. Always sorry to see youth players go through the system and then be let go.

Hope he gets a contract somewhere else soon.

To be fair I don't think he came up from being a kid here, we signed him from somewhere else.

Yep. Just need to lose a keeper and a defensive midfielder and he will be good to go!

Yeah, I do recall I think, but we've had him a couple of years haven't we?

If not, he can fook right off!!

Yeah 2015 it seems, got him from a club in Ireland.

Will be interesting to see if he goes back or is fixed up with a club over here.

Was never going to get a chance. Got Camwell, Thompson and Ford who are a year younger and 2 of those have already got minutes this season.

He’s a decent player and hope he gets himself a club where he can prove himself at

Brutal business, football. One contract scrapped in order to free room for someone more temporary.

Best of luck to the lad.

Isn't Thompson more a centre back though?

Right. Didn't know that. Thought he was an out and out left back.

He was an Irish International in his age group so it seemed to be a bit of a coup when we signed him.
It just goes to show that kids develop at their own pace .
Some show promise early and kick on to great things, and some find a level and dont progress.
And just a few are slow developers who have a development spurt late on

It's a tough call, but sometimes you have to push people in the direction of getting games and development rather than let people stagnate here. It's about being honest and transparent as a boss. It could be the making of the lad, depends on his drive and ambition and finding a bit of luck with a move. Wish him well.

Thought he would break through highly thought of in Ireland he must have a contract lined up back in league of Ireland. Wish him well hopefully a year or two at home and with the experience he might get a second move to UK and hopefully make the breakthrough second time around
