For the first time in a long time we are passed Christmas with an outside chance of the autos. A very good chance of the play offs and virtually no chance of going down

We are playing the best football in years and a goal scorer away from being a very good team

Yes we need to break the away jinx this next week but I believe we will at least make the playoffs

What ever happens then, it would be a successful season

I’ve read all the posts whilst taking the dog for a walk on Sefton park. And although I’m a classic fence sitter... I think I’m almost ready to form an opinion of my own.

if we are 3 points off an auto place after the next 7 games (if indeed 5 are away) then we will be nailed on for a play off place. This tight group of teams chasing one has got to start stretching out soon!

Looking at the table from last season after the Boxing Day fixtures:

The gap between where we are 9th and the automatics was 16 points

This season it’s 3 points
