I think in years gone by we all hoped it wouldn't be a better Championship team as they would probably win without getting out of 2nd gear and generally it would be shite. There are no better Championship teams to be worried of now. Fantastic.

Some great options for me. On 72/92 and 66/92 with Cov. Potentially 13 new grounds and 2 I've not done with Cov.

Also options of Exciting Prem home tie.

Watch it be a champ away now...

Nah still similar, I’d be disappointed if we drew Burnley, Leeds, Sheff Utd etc.

And?

It's been ages since we drew a big team at home, why can't we have that for once?

It will be fucking Barrow or something

Sometimes a shit draw can be a means to and end. Home to Liverpool in the 3rd round and knocked out or a Wembley visit?

Seeing us lose at home to Chelsea in a cup quarter final was probably the most sterile match I’ve seen us involved in.

Everton away would be good - only two chances to play at Goodison now before they move, this cup and the FA. And we'd have a chance!

Tbf with the league cup it’s incredibly hard to get to Wembley as it’s only the final, European qualifiers get byes and the semi is two legged.

I went to Barrow the other year to get it ticked off my 92 and it is the most awkward place to get to I have ever been, you have to go up the M6, past where you are going to loop back down to Barrow on the A-Roads

Yep you’re right, you get to near Kendal and you think you’re nearly there…. an hour later and you’re thinking where the hell is this place. I went there with a friend who supports Aldershot Town, for a National League game, so I’m counting that as ticked off now they’re in League 2. I live between Newcastle and Carlisle, and it would still be a minimum two and a half drive for me.

Wolves away last year (despite the moaning on here from most) was one of the best draws we could have got.

As was Manchester United in the semi.

Yeah and if it's at home, no VAR to help them.

FA Cup, would love a random away trip to Barrow or Carlisle or something. Midweek though?! Terrible draw! I spared a thought for those Derby fans who travelled that far.

Best in terms of being winnable yes, but since there was a high chance we were going out whoever we drew it was disappointing at the time to get a relatively boring draw.

Apart from City and Arsenal we could beat anyone. Don’t get the slander of the cup to be honest, always loved getting through a few rounds. Will also help our fringe players to go as far as we can.

I don't know how Wolves away can be described as "boring"

FA Cup Quarter Final, a derby, and very much a historical rival (wasn't Wolves a huge deal in the 60's?)

Too many people can't see past "the big 6" and think nothing else matters..... spent too much time watching Sky Sports.

Key word being relatively.

Our options were Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, Wolves or Leicester. Arguably Wolves is the least interesting draw there.

It is a shame that it’s now trophy where many big teams play their fringe players and reserves.

It’s lost any real status - you beat a big team but it might be only beating their kids and reserves

Don’t the Scots have a cup where the top Welsh / Eire / NI teams also take part?

Maybe non-prem teams take part in that - something different, away day in Dublin might be more interesting.

Scrap the league cup and do that?

Arguably going away to Newcastle, Man City or Chelsea and winning would have been a much better footballing achievement....

But there is no chance any of those options would have created such an intense match and atmosphere. Wolves fans were up for it and it created a proper occasion. None of those teams above are getting that fired up to play us.

I'd say Wolves last season was our best single moment since we departed the Premier League..... i just can't get up for the thought that beating Chelsea/Man City/Newcastle would evoke the same feelings as beating a local rival.

My preference in that draw would've been....

Leicester
Wolves/Liverpool/Man Utd
Any of the rest

Please refer to Manchester City as Man City or Manchester City. We call ourselves City and its 'semi insulting to ourselves' to refer to another team as our name of City.

Barrow away would be my favourite.
How about a revenge League cup trip away at West Ham?

Didn’t we actually win a game at Deepdale in the FA Cup? I’m sure we did in the late 90s
