I am not sure if it is just me but this year there seems to be so much more play acting and dramatics. Don't get me wrong Doyle is mad for it as well with the old rolling around on the floor but there was one of their players on Saturday who rolled about 10 metres, punching the floor and screaming in "agony".

When McDonald got sent off, the guy got a little clip on the heel but was rolling about like he had broken his leg in 5 places or something.

The new thing seems to be punching the floor pretending to be in pain, it should be an instant booking the minute they stand up and are suddenly OK.

There just seems to be a lot more than there was previously in League One.

I think it's Football in general, it's been allowed to become the norm and players are taking advantage of it!

It is cheating.

It should be a red card, 2 week ban and a fine that is for the wages for that period. Each time after that an extra week would be added to the next ban.

I would guess that it would stop very quickly.

I can't remember it being so common in League 1 last year

Or kick him in the balls until he is in agony and punching the ground in pain.

There's been a massive increase in it last few years. It's expected in the Premier League and the Championship, but leagues 1 and 2 you wouldn't expect to see it.
Kids are growing up watching it these days! The more they see their "favourite player" diving/rolling around, the more they think it's acceptable.
Being 32 I an still remember images of Terry Butcher bandaged up and covered in blood, I read a few weeks back that somebody wasn't playing as he's got a pimple on his leg after shaving his legs???
I remember Cantona getting straight back to his feet like nothing had happened after being 2 footed by Vinnie Jones. Nowadays the player would be down for 3 weeks.

Kelly's one on the touchline disappointed me on Saturday. Must have rolled 10 times clutching his leg. It was a clear yellow but was just trying buy the red. Would have rather he jumped up and squared up to him.

Yeah, a few times on Saturday he played for the foul to slow the game down.

One just before that you saw him look round to see the player coming, then brace himself and then go straight down.

Thing is, Jones has actually seemed to stop all of that and toughened up a fair bit!

Pathetic reason your team mates have missed matches deserves a thread of it's own! We had a lad last season that missed a game because he'd got mosquito bites on his legs so couldn't wear socks.

There is more cheating/diving part of the reason is because the refs are so poor the players can get away with it. Also the ref calling players over to tell them off all it does is slow the play down for the ref to have a breather who not have a word as they run past.

I hate it, diving is embarrassing and shouldn't be in the game at any level.

The pundits seem to encourage it too especially the likes of Lineker and Shearer, 'he had the right to go down there' and 'stone wall penalty' at the slightest brush of contact.

For me they need to bring in straight red cards for clear diving and retrospective bans. Yes it's difficult to prove someone has gone down too easy BUT there's numerous occasions when there's a clear cut dive and that deserves to be punished.

Or if they go down and roll about they need to go off the pitch like they do if they have had treatment.

I blame the Italians and the Argentinians they started it all back in the 70s, and weak refereeing !!!
