The points haul has been terrible over the last ten games, but second spot is within reach.

I admit we need to 're find our form quickly. That belief we had earlier in the season, even if we went behind we could still win games.

We just need an injection of confidence.

But even though Burton won and we are now 9 points behind them, we are still only 6 points off 2nd and therefore an automatic promotion place.

We just need to get our act together and string at least 2 or 3 back to back victories and then we could be right back in it.

Absolutely agree. Of course autos would be ideal and stress free, but could you imagine the excitement of the playoffs.

It would be off the scale....

A full house at the Ricoh for the 1st leg v Wigan

We are normally pretty good when we get a huge crowd

Off the scale-that's just the catastrophe that would be the ticket office. Werever that maybe on any given day

If you mean Johnson, then this is hardly a surprise and was to be expected!!

The word strengths means one player?

Or is your memory worse than mine? Our two top scorers have about 25 goals this season between them. Last game they were both out through injury. Our defenders constantly get injured and Johnson is just one of these. Then we had Maddison injured at the start of the 4th game after a great start and has missed most of the season so far.

Where would teams like Burton be if they had injuries like us?

Can you get into the auto promotion positions via the sob story clause? 3 pts for every injury and 2 for every time we cried about a ref

Well haven't checked, but would guess every other club has had their injuries too.

Didn't Walsall lose their top goalscorer Tom Bradshaw for quite some time?

Be very surprised if no other promotion club hadn't had injuries to major players.

The one sympathy I have with us is in terms of centre back. We lost Reda and Willis and Turner and Martin. Four players for one position, otherwise we haven't done too badly. Fleck, Vincelot, JOB, Ricketts, Armstrong, Stokes and Murphy have all been available for just about every single game this season and all of those are very much either first names on team sheets or very close to it every match.

Not an in depth analysis Otis but we have used 27 players in the League with 8 players having played in 20 or more games. Burton have used 22 with 12 having played in 20 or more matches. That won't be all down to injuries as some of it will be down to rotation. But our defence has really been hit by injuries. It is not just the changes in personnel, it is also the constant changes in position, especially Ricketts and Stokes. That is just not going to develop a rock solid defence or individuals form.

Walsall have used 20 players 11 having 20 appearances or more. Bradshaw 24 appearances the same as Armstrong for us. Again a more settled squad.

Gillingham used 22 players 8 with 20 or more appearances. They do however have about 15 players with 15 or more appearances with the rest having just 1 or 2 appearances each.

So we're 6 points ahead of 7th but with goal difference, it would effectively take 3 defeats for us to potentially slip out of the play offs.

If Walsall win their game in hand, we're 6 points off autos. My gut feeling says we're destined for the play offs now after the recent run. I get the fact that others are playing each other and will drop points but as someone else pointed out, the 3 games at the beginning of April might hopefully push us into the top 2 if we have a good run before then but worst case scenario, hopefully they'll cement our place in the play offs.

Fact is, whatever happens now we need to start winning games. We're not staying in the play-off places unless our form drastically improves.

Of course if it does improve and we win say 3 in a row the whole picture changes anyway and we might well be a bit closer to the top 2.

We're already 6 points off autos. If Walsall win their game in hand they will be 8 points in front.
