My God! We're talking about teams in the 3rd Division! Doesn't seem that long ago we were talking about games against Man Utd, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. What has become of my club? 34 consecutive years in the top division! I truly feel sorry for the younger posters on here that haven't known regular top flight football, even if it was a perrenial struggle! That was the excitement half the time!
I'm not even sure if I actually give a hoot who finishes in the top six. I can't see it being us. As I've said in the past and will keep on saying: we've never finished in the top six in ANY league in 44 years! Why is it going to be any different now?

I am 20 years younger than the 44 years we have fine without a top 6 finish so maybe in 20 years I may see a top 7 finish. I think we should broaden it out slightly and say any top half finish is a highly successful season. Even then I think we still will be waiting 44 years.

Isn't it dreadful...what we've become?
There was a time in the not too distant past that other than maybe Sheff Utd...we'd be discussing whether we would be going to some of these other places to watch pre-season friendlies.
Now we're clinging to the hope that we might surprise a few people & be challenging them for position in the play-offs.
What a great start to a Monday morning

Orient and Sheff Utd top two.

I think they have the best squads on paper.

We would have a better chance of promotion at The Ricoh than Sixfields, whether it's a pipe dream or not.

All this talk last season how sixfields actually benefited us to start with. What a load of rubbish. Less than 2k home fans not cheering with no atmosphere. Doesn't help anyone truth be told.

That became blatantly obvious at the MK away game (the one at MK's not Northampton) the crowd clearly had a positive effect on the player's and theirrresponse was to turn a loss into a win.
