What would our average had been if Sunderland allowed us to sell what we did last year?

The same because we didn't sell out this year.

They're probably quite relieved to still have a club to support.

It will be whatever we sell added to the season total divided by away games played.

Fair enough, had 1900 in my head as that's the initial allocation which is still on sale, unless they've sold out that in the last couple hours
I don't think we will take 3500 tbh

This is surely massively boosted by the fact we took 6.5K to MK Dons. We'd drop down a few places without everyone jumping on that as a day out.

Tbf, lots of the clubs around us took big followings there. Sunderland 4.5k, Ipswich 3.5k etc.

Thats still 2K & 3K less. Its just playing with numbers when you have 1 massive away day. Our away support is fab every game considering how much shit we've been through but when our average is 1885 and we've only taken that many to 3 or 4 games all season its a bit weird to start a thread about it.

What a stupid thing to say- Ipswich, Portsmouth & Sunderland all played there already so their "days out" are also included- are you going to downgrade their figures as well? We took 6,274, Ipswich took 3,360 Sunderland took 4,436.

What does it matter why they went? They went.

Wrong again- we took that many to plenty of games.

And its not "playing with numbers"- that amount of fans went to games, that is a fact.

Take 3k off the mk dons away day (which I shouldn't have too) we would average the 3rd highest still at around 1700

Ridiculous post btw

I don’t understand what you’re debating? No one is saying we take 6,000 or a certain number to every away game - it is an average across the board and the same calculation for every club

How can it prove your point?

Over the course of 15 away games we've averaged 1885

Without that game completely we average around 1600

Still the 3rd highest in the league but you can't do that as the other sides were given the opportunity to take the same to MK dons but didn't... So your post makes zero sense.

We've taken 1800 or more to Wycombe, Doncaster, Shrewsbury, Burton, Bolton, Oxford and mkdons btw.. Only taken less than 1000 once all season

So the answer is we've taken 1800 or more in pretty much half our away matches

From the start of the season Bolton 1,915, Oxford 1,810, Peterborough 1,584- could go on- loads of them.

This is a new one, trying to run down actual attendance figures & skew them so that our support isn't actually as good as it factually is.

I said in my first post our away support is awesome. Its just stupid to start a post like this when only 3 other games have been over the average of 1885.

Would this post have been started if we hadn't played MK yet?

I don’t think the poster has worked it out himself, think the figures get posted on another forum

They get posted on a football forum.

All teams have days where they take more than their average so the post from the bloke makes no sense.

For example Leeds averaging about 3k every season but took 7k to Fulham one year.
Or Sheffield Wednesday taking 5k to Barnsley a team on their doorstep but their average is average around 2100.
